I don't disagree with the sentiment but we're playing Threlkeld. Doesn't mean he's in MH plans for the squad this season...

 

As someone pointed out yesterday, and I think he’s played in every game so far, nobody will take him off our hands on any performance so far.

I was surprised he ventured beyond the half way line against Sunderland, twice in fact, and made a complete hash of two simple balls from memory.

 

I could see an NL team taking Threlkeld. I think he'd be ok at that level.

 

I saw on the Oldham forum last week their fans seem convinced they need another right back. Oscar lives in greater Manchester, might be a decent move for him. Wonder if the sticking block for a move with him are wages? Might be on a decent whack compared to what NL clubs might want to pay.

Just a wonder, as he's always been at L1 or abroad levels, might have been on good money then dropped to this level at moneybags Salford. Might be on a fair few quid more than teams expect.

 

He was truly awful on Tuesday. If he’d had shot instead of passing when clear on goal, might have redeemed himself a bit. However, I think his confidence has gone. Can’t see him getting any better. Needs to move on. Probably third down the list once Hendrie recovers.

 

He wasn't 'truly awful'. You must have been watching a different game to me.
He was better than I was expecting.
In possession he was fine. He got forward a lot more than I've seen before. He struggled against Clarke a bit defensively, but he's a multi million £££ winger.
He definitely wasn't awful.

He is third choice though and needs to move on.

 

He's out of position so often it's actually rare when he's in the right position. At one point I thought he'd swapped with Odasebe.

He needs a move to a club where he can get some confidence back and play regularly.

He could be MOTM and you'd say he was 'Truly Awful'.
It hasn't worked for him here but rate his performance on it's merits rather than pre-judging.

Threlkeld was terrible first 5 minutes he came on, but settled into the game and got forward and was ok in the end. Still nowhere near the standard required though and I noticed when Halliday went off, where as I didn’t when Foulds did. The latter is meant as a compliment to the young lad who came on not a dog at Foulds, thought the lad did really well to get up to d

He's actually 5th choice in my mind. I'd have Sutton and FCD play there before him.

 

I agree.

I think its a little harsh to start digging players out in meanless pre season games for fans but if he can't get ahead of Hendrie then for me hes poor.

Hopefully, he gets himself a move because as you say I would have Sutton and FCD ahead of him currently.

 

Have to agree with this. I'm sure Threlkeld is down the pecking order now with all the new signings and that a move would probably be his best chance of regular football. But in the context of the the friendly match on Tuesday he wasn't bad at all.

 

I think he’s truly awful. That’s my opinion, same as you have yours. I watched him last season also. Littered with errors. He’s way down the pecking order for a reason. He’s not good enough. If he was, I wouldn’t have anything to complain about. The way he misjudged a goal scoring opportunity, after being set up by some good midfield play, was truly awful. I’m just glad it was a pre season game, and not a league match with points riding on it. I don’t pick on players for the sake of it.

 

Wasn't truly awful but fair to say some of his touches were truly awful. I agree though, time to move him on if possible.

 

There is never ever any danger of him becoming MotM. Not a chance!
