No we haven't. We've been disappointing defensively, at times, but not diabolical. At other times we've had patches of defensive solidity. Our much bigger problem is that we've consistently been diabolical offensively. We've scored 47 league goals. Most teams in the top eight places have scored in the 60s or 70s.

We've had 16 draws - joint highest in the division. Most of those have been games we could/should have won, not where we were hanging on to avoid defeat. We've consistently failed to convert pressure into goals. Our biggest problem has been a posse of non-scoring strikers and attacking midfielders.

Of course we need to upgrade the defence, but recruiting some attackers who can hit the back of the net is our overwhelming priority.

Apparently bought the whole team a fish supper on the way back last night - Cook must have thought all his Christmases had come at once!

If that’s the case you may have missed the fact that we train at a school.

Like most it would seem, I don’t know much about these guys.
The one thing that encourages me is that we’re moving early, rather than back end of August, which suggests to me we’re not signing our 9th choice targets like we seem to have done in the past!

That was bad, but worse were the days when our recruitment was so unplanned that it was dependent on us bringing in half a dozen trialists for each pre season game and hoping at least a few of them turned out to be OK. Dark days.

I agree about the striker, but think Hendrie is underrated by many on here, reminds me of Wayne Jacobs in that respect, no nonsense full back, nothing flash but would run through walls for the team. He won’t get many MOM awards but will do his job & be a driving force in the dressing room. A promotion winning team needs a couple of Hendrie’s, just as important as the stand out performers.

Call me old fashioned, but I'd rather the club's lawyer wasn't having a spat with someone on Twitter calling them pubeless and accusing them of talking bollocks.

I think this is Hughes planning to be here for the next three-four years.

He's signed a versatile young forward who has just been awarded a league winners medal, and for a long time - potentially maximising his resale value.

    Theoretically, it's a strong move.

He's a local lad too, and excited to be here by all accounts - he even enjoyed playing against us. That means there's little doubt about his commitment or that he'll settle. Looks a well considered move.

Not sure how old you are Fordy, although sometimes i guess about 12 with your comments.
Do you remember the club entering administration , once in the 80's and twice after the premiership.
I like many dug deep to try and help keep the club going and do not want to go there again. If the club manage to turn over a small profit and can still progress, then well done to them. I don't want us millions in debt to anyone and carrying massive losses. Everton's debt over the past three years £380 million is an absolute disgrace and makes a mockery of the league
They should have points deducted and be relegated , with Burnley re-instated, They actually made a profit.

Very surprised at these comments on Ridehalgh - he’s been an excellent LB for me, and Foulds only really played when Ridehalgh was injured.

For me Ridehalgh would have been a firm candidate for player of the season had he played a few more games.

VP is gonna be rocking again next season.

In the current economic climate it will be a huge effort for all concerned with the club if we match or surpass last seasons ST tally.

I think the reasons why sales are as they are is a combination of factors:
    the MH effect
    decent and engaging marketing
the early signing of young hungry players.

Things that we have lacked in recent years. The people of Bradford and surrounding districts are reacting well to the positivity around the club.

While we are not a big club per se, we have the potential to hold our own in the Championship and that is somewhere I would really like to see us within 4-5 years. And with MH at the helm.

I've said that all along. People's views have been skewered by the positive end to the season and a lot of people seem to have forgotten that they wanted every single player out of the club just a few short months ago. If any of them stay then of course I'll get behind them but equally, I won't be disappointed if any or all of them leave.

Johnson, Odusina, Dion and we are done for me. I'm ok with starting the season Angol, Harratt and Cook fighting that striker role. With Jake Young if needs must too.

Obviously if a top striker becomes available and it is dooable then go for it but wouldnt be signing anyone for the sake of it now.

Don't think there is room or a need for another CB. We've signed 3 already and lost just the 1 over the summer, and we still have Songo'o
