Sometimes we get kicked off by school as they’re using it for class

Does anyone know what facilities we don't have that we should? I would imagine we have a canteen, physio room, decent training pitches, showering facilities, media room, car park, boot room, changing room,gym. What else are we lacking that would make a difference to the team when training?

 

We rent the facilities from a school of course they can’t keep it a available when it’s not going to be used. If the weather had been better they would have used a grass pitch

 

There is also a pool.

 

So we pay a fee to use the facilities at certain times and you think that gives us the right to kick off people that have paid a fee to use the facilities at a different time? That would be like someone kicking you out of your seat at VP for a league game because they had bought the seat for the next cup match

 

I asked Fordy this question a while ago. Never did get an answer. I'll criticise the club all day long where it's deserved but I don't think our training facilities are an issue because I doubt there's many (if any) clubs at this level or in league one with better facilities than us.

surely that is bad planning from the club. Schools run on tight timetables, they don’t just suddenly decide to have an extra PE lesson.

 

sorry forgot to turn my psychic capability on. Reading the moaners on this thread about it I don’t know which are serious complaints and which aren’t now

 

I was just trying to understand what we don't have that could be hampering the team. Obviously we don't have unlimited access so you could argue that is a downside though I don't hear that we are training less under GA but training more so maybe the time we have on the pitch is more than enough for what the manager wants.
As for the facilities themselves I have never been to the training ground so have only seen videos etc but it does seem to be of a decent standard. Aren't they categorised by the EFL, FA or whoever and I believe the facilities have a good rating. Maybe @wetherbywhaler can add more on this?

 

If we can't ensure the facilties we rent are available and planned appropriately, the arrangement isn't fit for purpose or reflective of a professionally run club.

You'd have thought that would have been the first thing Benito Carbone would have wanted to see, they were not as good in our Premiership days as they are now talk about hitching for the sake of it.

 

Rubbish it’s a Saturday afternoon I might be needed once a season if that and then only if the grass pitches can’t be used. And facilities that were used when this club was in the premiership with much less facilities than now

 

I’m confused. Is this about a practice field at Woodhouse Grove being unavailable for us yesterday, or is it an ongoing thing? Somebody clarify it for me please.

 

and therein lies the problem. All the info we all have is in the article linked so a couple of lines on comment from GA. That is it. The rest is pure speculation and interpretation depending on the slant that is wanted

 

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter where we train, but a professional football club backed by tens of thousands of fans should not be playing second fiddle to a school's PE lesson.

Somebody has seriously failed in their role in organising training for us here.

The title of this threat is inaccurate and embarrassing!

Obviously we don’t have access to the training facilities 24/7!

 

In the original post Alexander says in the past the squad have been asked to move from the 4G pitch I believe, as I think the pitch at the front and the pitch under the viaduct and for Bradford City use I've never seen anyone else on them..

Adequate enough for a struggling league 2 side I guess. They aren't the reason for our failure as a side though, that goes goes far deeper.
