Anything to bitch about and knock the club, don't you think the club would not normally be using the 4G pitch at Woodhouse Grove on a Saturday afternoon as we would have been playing Doncaster at Valley Parare.

 

We tried booking Woodhouse Grove but the kids were using it .....

 

This is an embarrassment of a post. I wouldn't want my name attached to this point.

 

Clubs used to win championships by getting their players to run up and down the steps of the main stand as training.

I'm not sure using the past to validate something 25 years on is necessarily a recipe for success.

 

I'm sorry but that just sounded like GA was getting the excuses in early before Wednesday night. We won't be the only club that have had disruptions to training due to the weather, of course it doesn't help, but it isn't anywhere near the top of the list of reasons why we are where we are in the league.

 

Can you quantify this statement? I take it you've done an audit of all league 1 and 2 football clubs training facilities.

 

Adequate enough for a struggling league 2 side I guess. They aren't the reason for our failure as a side though, that goes goes far deeper.

 

Exactly. It’s nothing to do with ownership or leasing arrangements. It’s poor planning, simple as that. Reserve the space and plan to use it, or tailor training plans accordingly. Go for a swim, a run, gym time, video analysis and tactical sessions. It really shouldn’t be that complicated. Its a symptom of an unprofessionally run club, nothing else,

 

One thing is for sure despite all the criticism,the training facilities the club have now are far superior to the Paul Jewell era when they had to climb into their cars after training full of mud and shower and change back at Valley parade. We got into the Premier league with those facilities.

 

That in itself proves it has nothing to do with the training facilities-we just don't have enough good players in the squad. Until that drastically changes we are not getting out of this league.

 

Unfortunately posters like you never take on board any form of feedback and will continue to post claptrap as long as it's a stick to beat the club with.
Just my opinion of course.

 

I'm not aware of the ins and outs of the arrangements with regard the facilities but I'd suggest as we have no use of the facilities on a Saturday apart from development games on the front pitch on a Saturday morning Woodhouse Grove were quite within their rights to use it.

 

We do have exclusive use of the grass training pitch but it was obviously unfit yesterday. We needed the 4G pitch yesterday but it was unavailable so we went to Horsfall. Really don’t know what the fuss is about, under normal weather the training facilities are excellent.

 

Personally if we are getting kicked off pitches midway through training sessions then I am worried about the organisationa t the club, not becuase we are sharing the facilities with the school but more becuase the club are not capable of looking at a clock and telling the time. Schools run on fixed timetables, they do not just randomly decide to have PE lessons plus there will be contracts set in place that say when the pitches and facilities are available for the club and when they are available for the school. If the club are not capable of telling the time and arranging training around those times then there are issues which could be much deeper, if they can not keep to those contracts what other contracts are they not capable of understanding and keeping?

What don't you understand we normally have no need to use the 4G on a Saturday, the game was postponed and being partners in the venue Woodhouse Grove had it booked for an event, hindsight is a wonderfully thing.

 

Because I believe that many fans understood the background behind why we have the collaboration with the school but I also believe many fans will be surprised that the school has priority and better planning can't happen to ensure we can train when needed.

 

Apparently we pay a decent fee for the use of the facilities, we should have just booted off whoever was and told them to do one.
