Great news and well done to the club/DA for rectifying a problem that they didn't expect to be solving so soon I guess. Anyway decisive action has been taken and we move on.

Scotland was an excellent scouting ground for the club many many years ago, Ireland can also throw up some gems, so it can only be good news.

As far as i knew he was prepared to go full time when the right offer came along. Can't believe a player would be looking for a club to take him on full time but then expect to still be on the tools. Doesn't make sense.

Do people think this is actually going to make a short term difference? Genuine question?
I can see this being a step in the right direction and I’m glad we seem to be catching up with the very bare minimum of the rest of the football league in terms of having a scout employed but let’s face it…. Any real talent is going to be hoovered up by the 80 odd teams who are currently better than us. We’re behind the likes of even Accrington Stanley and Burton Albion currently in terms of club structure.
We might steal the odd player from the lower leagues of Ireland and Scotland but again we won’t be the only team looking and we will be pretty low down the list of attractive clubs to join. We need to have our fingers on the pulse if we are to unearth anyone of real quality.

But in truth, the club made alot of money from all of those players in sell ons, which at times, helped towards keeping us afloat.
