Probably brought it forward due to the mass hysteria after Crankshaw left. Onwards and upwards i suppose but yet another transfer window wasted due to the incompetence of the club.

 

If I were Adams I would walk. Clearly he's been given no support at all by the club.

Sounds positive. Although they'll have to be accustomed to finding nuggets for the bargain price of nothing, and as soon as Adams leaves we're back to square one....

 

At least the ludicrous talk on here of Adams either walking or getting sacked can end now. What on earth would that have achieved?

 

Well it’s half going down the route on how Brentford operate, although we will never ever get the results they have got. Somehow we will completely balls it up, it’s what we do best.

It's another change but one that seems correct. Having localised scouts rather than expecting one person to do the job makes sense. If it's a step in the right direction of making this club run more like a professional club should run, then I'm all for it. I suppose it was optimistic to expect Sparks to get things right straight away, this feels right and if it brings the right calibre of player to the club then great. Fingers crossed. He's had almost a year now and things need to settle down.

 

Its not Sparks thats done this, its Adams. Sparks was singing Turnbulls praises during his tenure. Its clearly Adams that has taken this approach.

 

That's my take on it too. I think that's strong leadership though, being willing to take the advice of the experts you employ, to change course where necessary. I still have worries about whether these scouts work for Adams, or the club, but lets hope this bears fruit. Our recruitment has been awful for far too long.

Looks like a vert good move on paper. Actually using scouting software, rather than Turnbulls word of mouth approach seems much more modern. Wouldn't be surprised if the new scouting software and data analytics we use is the one (or very similar) to the one the P'boro chairman talks up on his pod given him and Sparks seem pally. And Adams already has a pre existing relationship with all.

Roscrow has been scouting or working in different areas at Swansea since 2009. Millar looks to have been one of the main men at Ross co under Adams as well as Aberdeen during their good times over the last decade or so and was the man who found Adams Graham Carey, along with a few others. Cant find a great deal on Young other than he worked with Adams twice before.

 

As usual this feels late and another window wasted, I wish Adams had taken over in December then maybe these changes would have happened around March time in time for the summer window. Still it seems a positive step and you can’t change the past so onwards and hopefully upwards, the joy of supporting a lower league club is basically hoping something like this pays. If when Adams goes I’d expect them too, however hopefully by then he’s left us in a league higher and we have a buyer of the club with his own vision and philosophy for the club, yes I know maybe a bit over optimistic but why not. Let’s hope they unearth some gems, good luck to them.

 

This scouting lark is made out to be a lot harder than it actually is. Doesn't take long to work out how good or bad a player is judging by their skilset. Take Mottley Henry for example. It was clear early on he didn't have the skills required to be a pro footballer, he's now at Park Ave. There are odd gems out there such as Vardy and the like but most of the successes are based more on circumstance imo.
If this 'new' approach is going to work then it has to be backed by Rupp. You cannot pick the gems out if you're not willing to risk a little because there are other clubs out there with exactly the same approach to scouting who will take that gamble, just likw when Fleetwood gambled £100,000 on Vardy from Halifax or when Lee Gregory was also available at Halifax. I watched a fair bit of him on the non league show on BT and he had all the attributes needed for the pro game yet we went nowhere near him.

Finally a bit of credibility. This looks a solid foundation and shows the Club is willing to invest in its structure.Good positive news and a timely signal that the gaffer not only recognises problems but understands the need to act decisively.
