The simple fact is wright is absolute dogshit and hopkin knows it so he wants rid. It's really that simple. That bellend edin was the one who made the mess. Not hopkin. He's just got the job of trying to sort it out and he's doing a decent bloody job of it!

Hopkin might not have given Wright a generous contract had he been here, but his actions since taking over don't mean there is any personal animosity between the two.

It's fine to think or say that Wright is a poor player - personally I think only a muppet would tell him that to his face or on social media, much less in some angry way. He didn't hold a gun to anybody's head and make them sign him, nor should anyone hold a gun to his and make him rip up his current deal.

The fact Wright is at City and tied down to a contract is Bradford City's fault, so ALL blame needs to start and end there.

 

Jon the blame should be attributed to Mr Rahic not the club/fans who have been made to suffer for his many mistakes - signing Wright just being one.

Well, I agree with his post about being respectful to a player that was offered a contract and accepted it.

Hopkin's comments weren't disrespectful in the slightest. He simply said if they want to go out and play football, then non league is the only option left for them. He's not saying they're non league quality players but just that this is their only option as he won't be giving them any game time.

Of course but you can’t compare Wright and Riley to those two. Ward had independent wealth and Carboni made a fortune from football. Wright’s career is coming to the head and the way it is going he isn’t going to get another decent contract so you can’t blame him for stalling

 

Wright should do what is best for him, we gave him the deal. His best option may be to just sit and take the money and wait to see if he’s offered a pay off.

Interestingly, Hopkin himself was in the same position when he was our player. We gave him a good deal and later realised we could n’t afford that and many others. Jim Jefferies was given the job of offloading all the high earners. He needed to ‘help’ Hopkin chose to leave using any means he could to make Hopkin not want to be here. On that occasion we were fortunate that Palace were willing to take him if we contributed significantly. Without Palace he may have let his contract run down and who could have blamed him. Wright is probably in a similar position.

Any way you look at it, we can't afford him -- off the pitch or on it! But we seem to be stuck with him. The only hope is that he works hard in training and convinces Hopkin he's worth another chance.
