O'Connor showed more in midfield in a couple of games than Wright has shown. Devine has had more good games in a city shirt than Wright also. As has Alex Jones, and Jake Reeves.
In fact I would rather see Hopkin have another go in a city shirt before I ever want to see Wright play in our midfield again.

Yes you defend and attack as a team. Wright can be questioned on both as a midfielder he was poor at both for us running around marking space when defending and rarely providing assists - getting in on goal, and on the odd occasion he did - fluffing any goal chance.

Completely agree, football isn’t that important to excuse some of those comments.

 

It's not Championship Manager, you're managing actual people, not numbers and statistics.

Whether he's good enough to make the bench or not is irrelevant if his personality, for whatever reason, is deemed bad enough to upset the apple cart or promote the wrong virtues.

I don't see how you can sit there and say he should be part of the squad when you don't know the reason he's not involved.

so basically you want him to be played so that he can earn his money?? Ever thought about what his performances might do to our survival chances?

 

I was on holiday at the start of the season, so missed a number of matches. The first time I saw him play competitively I thought he was poor, but was prepared to give him a chance. He wasn’t the only one, but midfield was pivotal in our play. He just didn’t seem to remotely interested. I thought his wedding had distracted him. He enjoyed all the celebrations and was finding it difficult to focus on his career and ultimately our team. I think when DH came in he noticed it as well, and I have no doubt he had words. He was so bad that the majority of fans had enough and I was quite happy when he was dropped.

However, I do not condone the abuse he is getting on Twitter. He does need to consider what he is going to do, because if the footballer I have witnessed is his best then he needs to think the next part of his career. I have absolutely no idea why Rahic signed him, and especially since he appeared to have upset the fans at Southend and the manager.

 

I know why Rahic (and Abbott) signed him, in a nutshell.

The words 'no' and 'clue', preceded by 'absolutely' and followed by 'what they were doing' forms the majority of the sentence.

 

I presume they didn’t get that way by waving their contractual pay! In any event they were both extremely gracious and understood our predicament. Their pay was secondary to their need to continue with their career as footballers.
