I'm not sure why people are so certain that Odusina would be a better signing than Crichlow. One played well in a game against us, the other played poorly in a game against us, but there are other fixtures that take place that don't involve Bradford City. Both are a similar age, neither has played many games in the football league. One played for a team that finished 17th in the table and one played for a team that finished 6th. There isn't really much to go on other than that one time you saw them play against us.

His profile is pretty similar to Paudie’s when he came in on loan although I think Crichlow has actually played more games and had a better performances in those games reading various articles and the Swindon forum. Paudie did well and got a three year contract. Why can't this lad do the same?

So we're judging a player on one match now?

Great news then. We're guaranteed 20 goals from Jake Young.

IMO Platt shouldn’t, at least based on today. Cannot under estimate what the calmness and ability to pick a pass, put his foot on the ball, control the tempo of play (whilst we are missing Clayton) gives to us and makes the opposition have to think right from the front.

Thought he managed Angol really well also.

A word for the referee today who I thought didn't put a foot wrong, kept the game moving playing on when ever he could, well done Mr Joyce.

Agreed, how often when a club has had an unspectacular season does a CB get the player of the season award? 0 GD as well so unlikely their forwards were firing on all cylinders. To be fair to Paudie he was a trier and a hot head, that often goes down well with supporters. Similar CBs are tenner penny in league 1 and 2.

I like Rom, but he's not as physical as we need imo.

Very good on the ground, but got hustled off the ball too often. Rom/Stubbs wasn't quite as good a pairing as I'd hoped.

Yes, Stubbs & Platt at CB, January to March coincided with our best run of the season. Was it 1 defeat in 17?

Was a fan of Crichlow and have no doubts he'll be capable of making the step up to L1 if he can find himself a club. If we weren't so well stocked at centre back then this morning's news would be a much bigger blow but you'd expect Odusina and Kelly to want to make a point and fight for more gametime during pre-season.

Platt & Stubbs have proven that they're a strong partnership and we started to leak more goals when Crichlow was restored ahead of Platt. Only two clean sheets in the last nine games when we were keeping clean sheets regularly with Platt & Stubbs. Expecting greater emphasis on improving the squad elsewhere.

Not sure what folk are expecting from league 2 full backs? Halliday played 46 out of 48 games and is deemed by most city fans to have been the third best player in the side in terms of consistency. So the manager rates him, the fans rate him, how many indicators do you need?

How many set pieces have we conceded from where Ridehalgh had been beaten? I bet there's very few, if any. From memory, the majority came from the Smallwood/Halliday combination.

I think a taller, more powerful midfielder slotting into that role in the shape helps us out massively as well as strengthening an area we lacking. Sounds like a win/win if we can attract the correct type of player.

    Over to you Mr Hughes!

Centre back on loan from Huddersfield.

Not sure what I make of this. He got ran ragged against for Swindon in our 3-1 win there last year and got subbed off at half time.

Not the experienced centre back I think we need.

Maybe, but at least I don’t need a dose of realism like most of the deluded 14,036 buffoons that have signed up on the back of another load of bull5hit to come out of Sparks’ mouth.

Thanks for sharing. It's good to get a view from someone who actually has knowledge of the player and seen them play regularly.

Sounds like we have acquired a decent player based on the views of Swindon Town fans. I'll certainly be placing my faith in your views as opposed to the ill informed few on here.

It's as though some wait to moan.

Vernam goes and apparently he can't be replaced. You'd think it was 1988 and we'd lost John Hendrie

Young has a good game against us, but isn't good enough.

Crichlow is praised by a fans of a team that got in the play-offs, but had a bad game against us and so must be a bad signing.
