I think we've established that, yes.

I don't remember Leyton Orients full backs both being 6'4" though so I'm assuming you can be successful without giants at full back in this division.

Not sure what folk are expecting from league 2 full backs? Halliday played 46 out of 48 games and is deemed by most city fans to have been the third best player in the side in terms of consistency. So the manager rates him, the fans rate him, how many indicators do you need?

I think most people accept that Halliday is good enough. It's just @ahar964@ahar964 and his strange Luke Hendrie preference that likes to nit pick about his performance when in reality he's been ultra consistent.

Must be because he's not over Dylan Connolly or summat.

:joy:....now you come to mention it!
I'll give up now, although I haven't mentioned any of those players in this thread. It was only a suggestion that bigger fullbacks might help us defend set pieces and that Foulds (a LEFT back by the way) would be stronger in the air. Now, if we still had Connelly as well.............

How many set pieces have we conceded from where Ridehalgh had been beaten? I bet there's very few, if any. From memory, the majority came from the Smallwood/Halliday combination.

I think a taller, more powerful midfielder slotting into that role in the shape helps us out massively as well as strengthening an area we lacking. Sounds like a win/win if we can attract the correct type of player.

    Over to you Mr Hughes!

At times last year , i was not sure who was actually marking who in games.
If we did employ the zonal marking system, well that seems like utter madness to me.
Find where our smallest defender stands , then put your tallest attacker against him.
Brad Halliday 5 ft 11 inches apparently and jumps to the magnificent height of 6 ft 1. He did seem to get beaten in the air quite a bit, rest of his play is pretty solid though, especially after a year out.
Maty foulds is 178cm or 5ft 10, to us old boys, according to his player profile.

Bradford City’s interest in Romoney Crichlow

That therefore means the 24-year-old will have to find a new permanent club and Bradford’s chief executive hasn’t ruled out him returning to the club this summer.

Sparks told BBC Sport West Yorkshire: “Romoney Crichlow is someone who probably should be operating at a higher level, we need to see how that looks. Nothing is off the table. You’re trying to sign players from higher leagues all the time.

“Rom did a great job for us, we’re grateful for him for dropping to League Two for a second season which I don’t think he really needed to do. What will be, will be on that one.”

Hopefully he has one more crack at it. A nice promotion bonus or a release clause if we dont go up. He has time on his side.

Didnt seem to write it off either. Kept his cards close to his chest if anything and all I got from it was we are trying.

That said, think he said similar about Vernam and Watt last summer.

Is n't this all a rehash of Spark's interview last week, just doing the rounds with the spin of bored journo's and forums?

Yep. I've seen Sparks interview rehased about 12 times now by various outlets. Boring.

He did two interviews. One with the club media officer which was about 20 minutes long and then another one with Jamie Raynor for BBC Radio L***s which was about 40 minutes. Some of the questions and answers were very similar to be honest but both were a decent watch.

Happy to be proven wrong, but can’t see it true or at least not this soon after end of season.
If you’re harbouring hope to play in a higher league, why would you have already accepted an offer from the league you just played in?Surely you would wait it out longer?

Appreciate if the offer of contract security, feel for club and supports, first team football etc supersedes other desires, then ok it could be true. Just I’d be surprised if it is done this soon.
