Possibly but he was more than good enough for league two

Honestly what difference does 50 games played in league two make when you have had two years of Premier league coaching under your belt.

What's better ? 87 games at league two level coached by someone who has done nothing, won nothing and got zero experience outside the khazi league or 2/3 years under a championship/ pl coach ?

    I trust Mark Hughes. Simples

Not sure what to make of this signing, purely because a) it wasn't the CB signing I was expecting and b) I know absolutely nothing about him. That said, all I really know about Odusina is that he was outstanding against us when we played Pool at their place. He might have been pants in a lot of other games, I don't know. Crichlow was apparently awful against us, but I can't say I remember him, he might have been outstanding in other games - Swindon fans certainly seem to think he was.
I also don't know where this leaves us with Odusina, will he be signing as well or does this signing mean that rumour is now dead in the water? Maybe Hartley has convinced him to stay, or he's decided to take up another offer elsewhere, or perhaps we were never in for him in the first place, who knows? If it is a case of a deal falling through for whatever reason though, the one positive is it looks like we have been very quick to bring in an alternative, which suggests Crichlow was on our radar and is somone we had targeted, rather than a panic D, E or F choice signing when nobody else we wanted was available.

I have no idea how good this young defender is. I won’t know until I actually see him play a few games. I trust our new management and coaching teams to bring in the best players they can given the style of football MH wants to play. The vast majority on here also have not seen him play. They are new players to us as City fans, so I can’t see how they can be deemed not good enough when they haven’t kicked a ball yet.

Firstly I will wait until we have assembled the whole squad but even then I still won’t know how they will perform until MH gets to work on them.

Odusina is under 24 so we will need to agree a fee with Hartlepool or go to a tribunal.
My guess is we've not been able to agree a fee, so we moved on.

Their no1 defence returned to fitness. I do not place much store in the loan tbh

And he’s up the creek without a paddle and so are H pool until someone does. If not they are both in the doo do because he turned their contract offer down . They will possibly end up in court and lose for restricting his right to earn a living?

They must offer him a contract on at least the same terms to be able to demand a fee, so they're not restricting his right to earn money.

His contract rolls into a month to month deal. Not the best scenario for Odusina or Hartlepool.

Similar to where we are with Watt.

That's a different scenario though isn't it. They have offered him a new deal, ifbhe doesn't sign it he gets a rolling monthly contract. If he fails to turn up or refuses etc then he would be in breach of contract at which point he would lose out.
I don't imagine there would be many clubs willing to take a chance on somebody with that kind of history considering they would still have to go to a tribunal, it's not like he is a rising superstar or anything at present.

So we're judging a player on one match now?

Great news then. We're guaranteed 20 goals from Jake Young.

That last line, more or less sums up Paudie's time with us

It's as though some wait to moan.

Vernam goes and apparently he can't be replaced. You'd think it was 1988 and we'd lost John Hendrie

Young has a good game against us, but isn't good enough.

Crichlow is praised by a fans of a team that got in the play-offs, but had a bad game against us and so must be a bad signing.

Now, I know we have a history @banbrotam@banbrotam, but I love this bit of your post. I wonder how many of us expected anything from Hendrie when he turned up? Fast forward to when he left, the difference was amazing.

    So many needy comments...

Everyone should have just said this was the best signing yet, Mark Hughes, etc, instead of just giving their honest opinion

Plus the obvious 'wait to see him play' comments which would swiftly kill this forum until the season starts.

    Good idea.

Let's not discuss anything yet... On a forum specifically aimed at discussion ... :brig:

I've only read one comment about him by a Plymouth fan and it was on their forum. Something about being 'weak as Carling'.

I'm actually getting NKP vibes from all the comments.

Swindon fans seem to really rate him very highly. I remember similar comments about the ability and style of NKP. 'Rolls Royce of League One defenders', wasn't it? Let's hope the Swindon fans are right and he's top quality, then we'll all be very happy indeed!

Read he had some very personal issues during Plymouth spell which ruined his game time. Anyone else heard owt?

That said I will go on what Swindon fans are saying as they are L2 and more our level. Reads well so we shall see.
