Easy sentiment, but I bet you can't stand by it!

Given that we haven't seen so many of these players play a full season, your logic effectively dictates that:

1) We don't have a CLUE where we'll finish this season. Nobody can discount relegation, we could easily finish 24th.
2) By the same token, we are just as likely to finish 1st, because we haven't a clue.

Tell me you don't have an inkling - haven't formed a single idea - about where we might finish, or what our targets will be this season?

If you're glued to the fence like that, there's no reason for fans to have bought into this season in record numbers; there's nothing at all to suggest we'll do well. So why the optimism?

End of the day, people will estimate the future fortunes of individual players and the team, that's what makes this forum worth visiting. Otherwise, each new signing thread would consist of 1 post announcing the transfer and 0 replies.

Indeed, the comments on DATM are all positive. "Are we trying to get City promoted so we can play them next season?" was one, obviously tongue in cheek, question.

 

Is this guy worth signing? I think he’s absolutely quality but I have an awful feeling Huddersfield will be desperate in January as they’re in a really bad spot. Maybe signing him is our best option, Hudds may also be desperate for the cash.

 

Love to sign him, however, I reckon he will be playing for Huddersfield in league 1 next season.

 

Think people on here are a tad worried over nothing.

1) Town will take any cash especially if they go down. Hoyles comments on O’Brian and Toffolo confirm that.

2) if he was so close to first team they would have had him as a squad player when Sarr went and chose to buy a CB instead.

Couldn't agree more Kevin 1954. Rom is a star in the making and I hope we can keep hold of him as long as possible. He clearly loves being here, his team-mates, the fans. Yes he makes mistakes but he's young and still learning - but what he already has in terms of attributes is impressive.

 

this level compared to the championship is vast ........... he looks really good at this level but the championship is a huge step up .......... would they wanna risk it on a rookie player ????

 

They've got a CB on loan at Wigan who can't get a run in the side. The lad had a successful season at Rotherham last season too, if they recall anyone, he's by far the more obvious choice. Although youth isn't often the tactic to turn to in positions like they are.

Exactly. Naturally people look at struggling teams and assume they need defensive help but for them it's all the other end. Danny Ward and Jordan Rhodes are not a championship strike force at this point in their careers, it's that end of the pitch they'll find some help in this Jan it seems.

I like Paudie. This lad is much better already and defenders get better with age….wish we could afford him. I also love the villa lad too. He is a winger come midfielder and run back defender. Oh and scorer. Great signings. Don’t get me going on Banks too. . All three are worth a lot of money great loanees
