Alot of credit has to go to the new system at City. Any other L2 - and alot of L1 - teams would rip your arm off for any one of Rom, Banksie and Tyriek. Our lads managed to get all three.

Exactly! And that’s why failure to finish top is failure and a massive missed opportunity.
Anyone saying that this season can be a ‘free pass’ ‘it’s all about next season’ is just talking crap.

yeah I don’t get the thinking of some on here .......... they have clearly pushed the boat out this season ........... so folk think it’s geared to have a go with a vastly reduced budget ???????
We have to do it now and everything is in place to do so .............. I would even think that the club would even find more funds to make sure we get over the line this season come the January window

Dead right mate. If you were boss of a higher league club and wanted to loan out promising younger players to somewhere that had a former national team and premier league manager in charge, with a top coach beside him, think you might just be tempted big time!

If we are in the top 3 when the transfer window opens they will 100% strengthen.
I think there will be some departures also.
    Maybe Angol, Sutton, Hendrie

Calm down. We're doing fine, improving all the time and MH understands better than anyone that this is a marathon and we're in there for the long haul. He's been there and done it so many times as a manager and a player.

Sure there will be strengthening in the window. But I can't see the three you mention going out in January - all under contract til the summer and important back ups.

Nice to see it going the other way for once.

All too many seasons it's been the "WHAT A SIGNING" proclamations that have looked silly - but not this season, by and large

Not sure. It's hard to find players happy to sit on a league two bench but also able to make an impact on the pitch when called upon.

I was watching Burnley v Blackburn on sky yesterday and they brought up Blackburn playing out of the back(sometimes in a tight spot!) and it did remind me of us. However the commentator made an interesting point on why, and that was because in modern football it can attract better players and also adds value onto players when looking to resell. I thought back to Parkys era and although very successful, other than Wells who did we develop and sell on? Nobody in reality and you need to be able to especially as a lower league self funding side.

Although our style can frustrate I believe there is method behind it, those wanting more kick and rush would do well to think about it and how we have attracted good players like Banks and Wright. Under Parkinson attracting good attacking players on loan was always the hardest area or permanent for that matter as we never really replaced Wells. Not a dig at Parkinson but IBS above just made me think again about playing a style suited to higher up, imo it will reap its rewards should we be patient and stick at it long term.

he's definitely a L1 defender at the minute. pretty sure the lads only 22 got loads of time to improve further still.
Will be very important to keep him, Wright and Banks next season! regardless of the league we are in, but keeping them if we are in league one would be far easier!!

this would be an interesting one, as even if we got him on a free we would still have to pay a "development" fee to them right? my understanding is that he was at the club before the age of 21 right? if not i expect the club to exercise that option to gain a fee for him. smart business to say they signed the lad on a free in first place.
