To tell the player he’s not in his plans for next season and that he should find a new club.

Bit rude doing it through a third party. I’d want my boss to have the balls to tell me to my face they wanted shut of me

after the season we've had, its us who should be demanding these players to leave, whether thats mutual consent or what. They need shifting and quick. Stefan has much to blame as Edin so lets hope he gets his hand in his pockets and accepts another loss for this upcoming season.

If it's good enough for Zidane at Real, then it's good enough for Bowyer. ;)

You would have thought the players would have still been round the club working out their summer fitness programs

Reading Bowyer's latest comments on the T & A website a number of those players still under contract don't fit his criteria for getting " Valley Parade rocking".

Think you're missing the point Storck (and others), players on contract don't need to be seen to tell them they are on contract, they know. You don't start a new season with contracted players who have already been told they don't figure, that is the worst thing to do. That is where the Agents come in with conversations like "Do you really want to play in L2", the answer in some cases will probably be a 'No' and wheels go in motion for a move. Non of that is Gary's job otherwise it becomes demotivating and possibly constructive dismissal. Got to play it cool

I also think the football world is totally different to the normal employment world contract wise/agents. Different ball game.

They have to be ‘in his plans’ until they leave the club and/or other players come in. We cannot put up to 16 players in some sort of bubble. We cannot afford it. So until they move on, they have to be in some sort of plan, even if they are not Bowyers preferred choice, they may have to have some small part to play.

Strange how a lot of clubs release details of players that are available for transfers or have been told they can find another club. I'm guessing those managers/owners have had a conversation with the players before they announce the details to the press

They don't have to be in his plans at all. Its a simple case of "I would suggest you find another club because after I bring players in you'll be 5th choice and won't get any game time". Then they're placed on the transfer list for another club to come in for them.

I think you would accept that we have a certain amount of money to spend on players salaries. If we cannot get rid of some players, then we cannot bring in other replacements. Simply put we cannot have a squad that is large enough to have four players in front of one. So they may well be third choice, but they would have to be in ‘contingency’ plans. Even players on a transfer list, still have to be in some form of plan, even if it is on the periphery.

Perhaps if the players had shown respect to the badge on the pitch then they would be met with respect by the gaffer.

They didn't show they cared on the pitch so that will be mutually reciprocated.

What about last season when Josh Wright was behind Lewis O'Brien, Hope Akpan, Jim O'Brien, Karl Henry, Luca Colville, Jermaine Anderson, Jacob Butterfield, Danny Devine? We also still have Jake Reeves & Tyrell Robinson on our books. We didn't really have a good plan there did we? only got involved because Bowyer came in.

I think how it goes, the players themselves either contact GB, Agent or both if they want to leave, and GB says either yes or no. Some might want to leave even if they are under contract ie Scannell, it then comes down to negotiation with the club.

Then when everyone has gone that can go and we are still left with players who are not part of the plan, the negotiations to release players to other clubs and maybe paying part wages as a way of releasing more cash.

I believe he has already started that process with his statement of he expects some players to be asking for moves. This has two benefits, first he isn't upsetting anybody in the squad he might have to keep next season, secondly it then becomes the player asking so they forfeit the right to a percentage of any transfer fee etc, as the club didn't put them up for transfer they put themselves up very well played for me.

Erm to ask them to find another club as they don't feature in the managers current plans? How else would they know to start putting feelers out, it would be more counter productive to say nothing.
