Bit of a different view to Anderson to most on here. I remember a few years ago he was playing for the Posh and he started drumming up some interest from higher up. I believe Spurs were one? Anyway the lads suffered from two cruciate injuries probably hampered his development, a lot of noise on here about youth at the moment but we have a lad here who has a bit of pedigree at this level and still young.

He'll do ok in League 2, give him a full pre season and a run of games. Before anybody pulls it up about the ''give him a pre season'', look at this season. A good pre season is ESSENTIAL!

 

At least we never have to endure Chicksen or Knight-Percival clusterf*cking their way around the pitch in a City shirt ever again.

 

I am pleased Anderson has been given a contract started slow but for a player who has had two cruciate injuries at the age of 22 I think he got better as time went on. It also shows strength of Character. I think he will be a useful part of the Squad

 

AOC comes across as being the bad apple in this squad. Right from the off he was arguing with team mates. Arguing and ranting with the bench under both Collins and Hopkin, throwing the armband away and generally playing for himself. I’d be delighted if he was first out the door, he epitomises everything that’s wrong at our club. We read it from the Aberdeen fans and he’s continued to do the same here. He won’t change, it not in his dna.

 

I'd have Caddis at the top of any retained list

 

O'Connor is captain material if he comes back. His enthusiasm in what were dead rubber games was impressive.

 

Thought Paudie was excellent. Marquis barely got a kick.

Got a feeling those two might simply be low cost squad fillers and used as cover. Both young, both have time on their side for Bowyer to coach and improve. I'm no huge fan of either, but I do think Bowyer knows what hes doing. Devine will count as the home grown player too. It's the contracted shite I want to see him start the cull with now

I'm saying that how do you turn AOC or Wright into winner? What is it that you've seen from them this season that makes you think that they could do something because I'll be honest, I've seen nothing

Why shouldn't we carry animosity against them, they were part of a team that had us relegated with out a whimper!! Do you want me to make sure I clap them super hard and show them a bit of appreciation for the 0% dedication that they've shown to our club this season. I think our season was doomed because of the antics in managers and the recruitment before the season started but that's not an excuse for some of the performances we've seen this season.

I have absolutely no interest in wiping a slate clean for somebody just because they are the club. I partially understand @Ricc and @Fordy117 points about not being ambitious enough, the fact you've posted you'd give anybody from the bunch a clean slate next season is worrying.

Terrible team, terrible attitude but that's ok we'll give you a clean slate!!!

 

Don't worry, they'll just be backup to Akpan and Wright. What could go wrong....

 

It won’t be. Just because they haven’t been released doesn’t mean they’re going to be the first choice pair in midfield.


In any case, I think Anderson May be okay in league 2.

I’m disappointed we’ve released Billy Clarke though.

 

Offering the likes of Anderson, Devine & Colville contracts makes sense to me. In the past each of them have shown ability to be good squad players, and potentially (hopefully - if they sign) maybe more.

A season in League two is long. Lots of midweek games, travel and that’s before the cup games we’ll be involved in. We need a squad with a mix of youth/potential with hunger and the ability of potentially play various positions and roles when called upon. If these three are available at a cost effective price, then it’s a good decision IMO.

 

a top top pro, not the player we needed at the time but someone who can hand on heart say they gave it their all every time and actually understood what it meant to play for the club. hope he finds a good club for himself after this

 

Cant believe that anyone could find it in their hearts to say we hope to retain Josh Wright. He has to be the worst signing of the lot that we made last summer. I for one hope hes at the top of the list of the ones the club help manufacture a move away for. Waste of a wage

 

Agree, I want to feel confident that who ever is picked to run out on a Saturday afternoon is actually capable of not only having the required skill level, but also has club at heart. I am just hoping GB has got a grip of those whose mental strength, commitment to the cause have been found lacking are identified and asked to look elsewhere. I know this will be expensive and Stefan will need to step up to the plate, but that is the type of backing I am looking for.

We just cannot go into league 2, with left over drudge. We need a reset button.
