We sort our home form out then I can see us going straight up :)

I think the issue is actually getting into the top 3 I think if we actually hit them spots during the next few weeks I think we will stay there .............. think the next four games will have a big bearing now ......... if we could win our two home games and pick up a win or two draws then I can see us being within a point of the top 3 .................Carlisle have 3 tough games in the same time period let’s just hope they drop a few points or ideally lose there next two and beat Stevenage which drags them back into the mix

From Bradford City? I’ve tried that multiple times over the years, but always end up going back cap in hand. It’s the longest relationship I’ve ever had, costed me loads, given me plenty of heartache, friends say I’m mad, yet STILL we’re together. Must be love!

I assume most of you have just started supporting City, as the one thing anyone notices from a brief acquaintance is that we are unpredictable!!!

As we've seen in this thread, a few of the other chasers have a really tough next 6 weeks or so compared to us. *IF* this season pans out as close as some are forecasting, our lack of goals in the squad compared to other around us may come to bite us in the arse.

We seem to be wanting to go 1-0 up and then slow the game down and try play on the counter more since moving to this diamond, which is all well and good when it works and I'm not suggesting changing a winning formula, especially away from home. But I wouldn't mind seeing us push the tempo a bit at home and try close the gap on the goals scored column. Last season was close with Bristol only going up on goals scored, but there were only 3 points between 3rd & 7th, seemingly likely that it will be just as close again this year.

Now I may well be wrong and sometimes it is difficult to be precise about formations, but until Critchlow came on, it looked to me as if City were using a 4-3-1-2 formation at Gillingham. Clearly it is fluid set up, but there was a lot more movement on Tuesday. Whether there will be change again is difficult to know. Unless we go belly up, then this is the most exciting final run in, that I can remember since 2017.

Hughes is trying a much lower quality version of the box midfield the top sides in the prem are using now, contain central and try snap the ball when teams leave the created box and go wide, working so far.

There is always that back of the mind fear with City. Dont know if other fans have it but when that optimistic period kicks in after form, everyone should be positive..... but the back of my head knows we could absolutely "pull a city" and get 2 points from the next 4 games.

Me too mate. I'm the first to jump on the Facebook pages and call out the two hats who inhabit it simply to slag off Bradford. When I move out of my city, you might as well turn off the lights.

My youngest lives in Manchester now and we go over to see her. It's great city and part of that is it has a feel of Bradford, but busier.

Said on another thread pre Gillingham that if we could muster 10 wins from our last 15 games then it will be enough to get us straight up :) now it’s 8 from 13 and considering the form we are in then it’s deffo on

Whatever the outcome, squad size and rotation is key over the next few weeks. You saw yesterday how much we needed the influence of those from the bench and even though they took some time to kick in, ultimately all 4 played a part in their own way.

Was surprised Walker lasted till the end and even though I understand why as one of our most dangerous attacking players, he looked knackered. Be interesting how Hughes plays Walsall lineup - I’m expecting the same starting XI but potential for early subs like yesterday.

Average position of the opponents for each of the promotion chasing teams.
    Carlisle with the toughest tests.
We have the best run in.

After the win V Colchester and the draw V Walsall, I stick with my points/place as above. Lets see how we do now against Newport who drew away tonight.

    I've got us down for
    22 wins
    14 draws
    10 defeats

    80 points.
Based on the season so fars win, draw and loss percentages.
Last 12 games sees us win 6, draw 4 and lose 2

I'm going to be optimistic and say at least 6 wins (Crawley, Northampton & Rochdale away/ Hartlepool, Grimsby & Gillingham home) & 4 Draws (Newport, Crewe & Swindon away/ Sutton at home). I'm not second guessing Orient as it depends what hangs on it - need a win and we might get it, and Carlisle is anyone's guess.

Pick up four points from the next two and that is season defining. 80 Points minimum and automatics being decided on these two games.

So since I posted last we have lost points. I will stick the predictions for the remainder. We could get 74 points 6th-8th place.

As today showed the games and teams we face in the run in means absolutely nothing.

If we don’t get promotion this season it will be a real waste of having a 25 goal+ striker and a top goalkeeper. Sadly neither will be with us next season if we don’t go up ,as we will cash in on Lewis, and Cook will get better offers than ours after his remarkable season.
