From Bradford City? I’ve tried that multiple times over the years, but always end up going back cap in hand. It’s the longest relationship I’ve ever had, costed me loads, given me plenty of heartache, friends say I’m mad, yet STILL we’re together. Must be love!

 

Thing is, if we had have held on against the Gills, we might have approached the Cobblers game more cautiously rather than starting on the front foot, and ended up losing that one.

If we do or don't make the playoffs there should be no push whatsoever to see Hughes go. He's had one full season and we've progressed pretty well really.

Fortunately we’ve got the keeper and the striker section and are sadly missing the midfield bit of it.

Many people said quite early in the season that we wouldn’t get promoted with the midfield that we had.
They yet may proved to be wrong,but for too long it’s been the weakest bit of this team.

 

Carlisle would not be doing us a favour by beating Orient. We are 13 points off Orient and 5 off Carlisle. Can't get my head around your strange logic

 

I think the players have stepped up at the right time, Northampton are carrying a big injury list and are a patched up side at the moment by the sounds of it, those teams above us must really be feeling the pressure when we keep picking up these results.

i was surprised stockport didnt get all 3 points at the weekend.

Impossible to call how this will end up but its bloody brilliant and will probably go to the wire, as others have said pride is back in bucketloads because of this manager and team.

 

So you are saying we should sit back and try to hold on for a point at Crewe if drawing and 20 mins remaining?

Call me old fashioned but even if there is a slim chance of the autos we should be going for it. We have more chance of 3rd than 8th imo.

 

It's too difficult to predict how we'll do, let alone teams we don't watch.

It's a good effort all round, but these predictions tend to assume good teams win or draw their 'easy' games - but that isn't how it works...

Leyton Orient aren't actually doing fantastically well lately (last 10 games they're on a par with us) and they're miles ahead, so you'd think they'll see the season out with maybe 90 points.

80 points is probably enough for third, and not much difference down to seventh. Every team has the potential to go on a good or bad run, plus or minus maybe ten points, so picking which team finish where...

Very tough indeed.

So in conclusion. Who knows!!

 

Most important result is Mansfield and Sutton as we won’t be getting automatics, important result today to keep both at bay.

 

That is an unrealistic dream. Not a cat in hells chance we will get 14 more points than Orient in the last 9 games.

We should be aiming to haul in the 4 clubs above us, inckuding Carlisle, to try and nick 3rd place

 

I reckon every team can say things like that over a season, it will pretty much balance itself out. Rochdale also beat Salford and Stevenage and got a point against Carlisle and Northampton. Hartlepool still have to play a lot of the top sides but in their last 3 didn't lose to us, Northampton or Orient. Crawley beat Stockport, Salford and Mansfield as well as a draw against Salford and us. Harrogate beat Mansfield and Carlisle as well as draws with Carlisle, Stockport, Salford, Stevenage and Northampton.

The whole top 7 have dropped points against the bottom 4 this season. Switching off in games is probably the same I'd guess, Stevenages defending for Salford late goal on Saturday is criminally stupid. Every team will have moments like that over the season. My bigger "where would we be?" is if we had any other players who can get on the scoresheet. It's amazing we are where we are at the minute when no midfielder or winger has hit any consistent spell of end product at any stage this season.

 

Here's a thing for you - if we win every game we will be automatically promoted. Mathematically certain.

 

Northampton lose.
Stevenage draw or lose.
Carlisle Stockport is a draw.
City win.

Nobody promised you promotion or forced you to renew your season ticket. Contact the ticket office, I'm sure they will give you a refund.

Then when we get promoted at Wembley, go back to ticket office and pay an extra £102 to renew again.
