Happy with my defense of Sparks, he speaks well. A young fella with ambition who is clearly doing a good job under very tough circumstances.
Thought beyond the usual footballer clichés both Callum and Elliot spoke well about wanting to be at the club.

I know you dont rate Billy Clarke but I get fed up with seeing the players constantly put down by certain people, as Stuart said lets just get behind the boys (in these difficult times more than ever we should be looking forward to seeing our team again)Wakefield Bantam, broadsword, Allotment Bantam and 4 others like this. -

I can understand fans scepticism currently. 3 or 4 seasons of constant decline with a worse squad each year. Until we see some positive strides on the pitch it will remainbantam2708, Fools Gold, Dennis and 2 others like this. -
It might work in this shite league but moving up we have to move forward and look at a more solid scouting base. Should a left winger go we have a list of 4 or 5 names lined up Based on what the manager wants and we move on those targets. It all feels very short term and season to season all the time. Our budget could remain a lot more consistent for one if we go this way and not fluctuate depending on how crap we doYungNath, WilsdenBantam, ConnecticutBantam and 2 others like this. -

Interesting about flat out saying the club dont want Vaughan to leave otherwise command a large fee for him. Good to see they want to keep him.

After what I thought was a very open, positive fans forum discussion regarding all things Bradford City, this thread is still full to the brim with negativity.
Honestly, I’m shocked.
Rupp is effectively keeping the club afloat, and no doubt some fans will still question his commitment.
Vaughan is going no where, I said this yesterday before the forum. McCall and Sparks have reiterated this. Again, unless we’re significantly compensated for Vaughan, then he’ll be wearing claret and amber next season.
Fordy - before you pop up, ask yourself this. During these difficult, financial times; who could afford to fork out £200k+ and pay his circa £3k wages, for at least 2/3 years? League One clubs will look at other options and the only club who might have been interested is Tranmere, who don’t have a pot to piss in.
This nonsense about him not wanting to be here is completely false. Vaughan didn’t want to be here because of Bowyer and his tactics. From what I can recall, Bowyer left the building months ago.
Don’t get me started on this loan. Plenty have alluded to the fact that the loan is against the club; a club owned by the very person who has the loan. It doesn’t get much more simpler than that.Eco, Gardscoigne, Bronco and 1 other person like this. -
He’s backEd this club to the tilt (financially), more so than the previous custodians. We’re down here due to Edin and poor day-to-day management; Rupp has just been there to pick up the pieces and to be slagged off at every given opportunity.

Stefan already has around €6 mill of his own money invested in the club from the original purchase and having originally funded most of Rahic's share. At the time, we were a League 1 club with no assets other than a few potential valuable sell-ons from Wells, Wisdom and McBurnie. Since then we've been relegated and the sell-ons have been and gone. There isn't much left in the asset bucket now. I really can't imagine somebody being willing to pay Stefan what he originally spent in buying the club for a League 2 version of the club with no assets to speak of. The notion of him selling the club at any point without incurring a loss is for the birds. The only crumb of comfort for him is that the new salary cap will inevitably reduce the club's costs going forward and possibly make it profitable thus slightly more attractive to a buyer. We'll have to wait and see whether that encourages any potential buyers to come forward. I can't see it happening in the near future without Stefan making a significant loss.Hulmebantam, How, Interested Bystander and 1 other person like this. -
