True Park, but perhaps also in having a clear tactical plan - in my opinion we need the together and one main way of playing and tactical formation. This is then always easier to tweak when there is a unity about the group of players, they are more likely to adapt for each other

Oh I agreed about the togetherness etc

Players need to take ownership. Watt came across extremely well and so did Cooke.

It looks like he has been giving it a lot of thought over lockdown and is bringing in players to suit. But quite rightly he stressed the need for adaptability I certain situations to match other teams which makes sense. But it’s true you can think it to much

If teams come to VP and play a pressing game, which some sides do, even at this level, we will have very our tactics slightly. That doesn't stop us playing a passing game, we just won't be able to pass it out down the middle.
Personally I don't mind sides coming and pressing like that, at least they aren't sitting back and making hard to get behind them.
That's why I think you might be right about Vaughan. Letting him to and get someone in with the pace to play off Novak or Donaldson. Guthrie looked pants last season but his goals for Stevenage are on YouTube and are quality goals plus he's not that old.

Didn't Ryan mention something about anyone signed before the salary cap will only count as £68k rather than their full annual salary ?.

Run the risk of abuse on Guthrie he has only played one game for us and granted he was rubbish but it’s one game as you say he knows where the net is

He wont take your bet, notice how quite he goes when he's asked to back his comments up with a £10 wager for charity.

Why’s that? He had to come in and do a rescue job. Didn’t you hear the bit about heading for administration in Dec 2018? Yes the sale of Ollie McBurnie helped, but there was clearly a lot more done to keep the wolf from the door. I can’t understand why people see Julian in a negative light.

That's always been Stuarts way of running the football side of things, bringing someone in who he believes can play but more a player who wants to be at the club and is part of a happy dressing room, you only need the one bad egg.
I thought Ryan made a very good point with regards the money (lets say spent wrongly) by Rahic and we could have been near administration on December without Rupp committing himself financially to steady the ship, what a **** that Rahic was.

He came in and did the rescue job, you're right. But that's all he's good for - he's a firefighter. Julian is not a man with a vision or strategy appropriate for football in 2020. He cannot and will not move this club forwards.

There were a number of puerile ‘pop up speech bubbles’. You got fed up of seeing the Luton stuff! It detracted from the discussion.

Not sure that is strictly true....its as @Bronco@Bronco put it above.

Players currently under contract as of june 30th will have their wage capped at 68k , so affectively £1300 per week.

We had 14 players currently under contract, theorectically if all them 14 were earning £1300 per week that would bring us to approx £950k leaving £550k (approx 5k per week) to spend on the rest. Unless the push for extra dispensation for players under 21 gets voted in

    Thats my interpretation anyway

It's probably something to do with the 2 administrations and 4 (or is it 5?) relegations that have occured during the Rhodes' involvement?

From what I've read my understanding is like you @Dratsab taf@Dratsab taf although is there any likelihood any of those on current contract are paid less than the £1,300?

Still, when you do the follow on maths then £5-£6k a week left isn't much!

Oh, worth saying, with the potential start again being pushed back another week, this time to end of next week, any one we have recently signed and will sign before that deadline also counts to the average wage of £1,300. Hence why Bolton and Salford have paid decent money for their signings knowing that the average salary counts for the full duration of their new contract.

Guess that means we can sign maybe two more and then rely on loans (not sure if their wage counts in any way to the cap as I've read nothing on that)
