I noticed McCall mentioning when asked about the academy that a few more younger lads could be in the process of leaving to bigger clubs. Can we still get the sell on clauses or have they long gone in favour of big clubs?

Got to admit I found what McCall was saying a little worrying on the scouting front. I can watch players on the ipad...Seriously! Honestly I could make both @Park bantam@Park bantam and @Bronco@Bronco look like Bobby Moore and Pele on youtube.

I just thought damn this club is a shambles! What are we in 2001 or something? McCall says hes looking at players on his ipad but then signs players he knows.

We need a better we just tick by day by day. Embarrassing! We can't even get into 2020. Hardly any manager decides on players on their own these days.

See again that concerned me. I thought with promoting them other 4 to the 1st team we were stopping that and letting them get 1st team experience then sell them for more money etc.

So PL clubs want these players and we seem like we have to let them go.

I don't know what the strategy of the club is at all moving forward. I am confused by what we are doing.

    Hope you are right Park
You can't keep an unhappy player (if he is)
The Nahki Wells scenario is a perfect example
I think if Vaughan was happy to stay Stuart would have said that as well

There is a programme for clubs available on the iPad or computer that list every pro footballer once identified on there that’s when the work starts go and watch for yourself take opinion of others and talk face to face technology saves time and money in football as it does in most sectors of life

Well we need to try to put ourselves in Vaughan shoes.

He joined Bradford to go up.
Has Doyle and Donaldson at the start of the season and we more that likely thinking great.
Rhodes gets rid of Doyle on loan.
Bradford under Bowyer played deadful football. He wasn't happy with the style of play.
Brought the style of play up with Bowyer and more than likely Rhodes.
    Fell out with Bowyer.

    See this is the thing!

The club has a decision..Back Vaughan or back Bowyer!
The club decided to sack them both off!

The club then finishes in 9th and signing poor player like Billy Clarke.

Ask yourself this. Would you be happy to stay?

Yeah you could see it like that mate but you only have to look at the amount of clubs he has had to understand he doesn't

I'm aware of that programme but to not have a scouting system or Sporting Director is backwards in my mind.

After what I thought was a very open, positive fans forum discussion regarding all things Bradford City, this thread is still full to the brim with negativity.

    Honestly, I’m shocked.

Rupp is effectively keeping the club afloat, and no doubt some fans will still question his commitment.

Vaughan is going no where, I said this yesterday before the forum. McCall and Sparks have reiterated this. Again, unless we’re significantly compensated for Vaughan, then he’ll be wearing claret and amber next season.

Fordy - before you pop up, ask yourself this. During these difficult, financial times; who could afford to fork out £200k+ and pay his circa £3k wages, for at least 2/3 years? League One clubs will look at other options and the only club who might have been interested is Tranmere, who don’t have a pot to piss in.

This nonsense about him not wanting to be here is completely false. Vaughan didn’t want to be here because of Bowyer and his tactics. From what I can recall, Bowyer left the building months ago.

Don’t get me started on this loan. Plenty have alluded to the fact that the loan is against the club; a club owned by the very person who has the loan. It doesn’t get much more simpler than that.

Of course it was going to be positive. That’s what they are designed to do.
I can understand fans scepticism currently. 3 or 4 seasons of constant decline with a worse squad each year. Until we see some positive strides on the pitch it will remain

He also mentioned Romain Vincelot being put forward by Abbo, and John (tumble) Dryer putting Tim Diengs name forward, as he then explained few clubs in the lower leagues have scouting networks.
Funny thing is your always quoting living in the past then when stuart says he doesn't have to leave his arm chair to scout players because he has all the information he needs on his Ipad "wyscout" you call him out, another @fordy contradiction.

If it was that simple all clubs would just do that.
Look it's McCall's team...Fine! problem is it it doesn't work out then we are left with the rubbish we don't want. We don't have a plan to move forward.

Hopefully, a new CEO will put that right.

Soon as Rupp leaves, I'll be happier. Until the club find forward momentum (which Rupp has failed on) and bring happier times for the supporters of Bradford City, I'll take a fans forum with a pinch of salt.

So as for positivity, I'll remain neutral. If you don't mind.

Once again you dont stick to the point which is "very few lower league teams have scouting networks" the manager has contacts from his time in football, and the career that Stuart had as a player he would have plenty of ex-pros still in the game who could put him onto players in various positions.

Back to you usual negative self this morning Fordy : unamused: Interesting that to try and put the club down and establish the Vaughan position you use Billy Clarke as your example but no mention of the 2 really good signings at our level of Cooke and Watt who could definitely help with the service to Vaughan.
I know you dont rate Billy Clarke but I get fed up with seeing the players constantly put down by certain people, as Stuart said lets just get behind the boys (in these difficult times more than ever we should be looking forward to seeing our team again)

That would be OK if the current salary cap proposal didn't include bonuses. But at the moment it does and lots of other player related costs as well. It should all become clearer very shortly.

It all depends. As a minimum, the club would be entitled to a development fee under the EPPP system. But that's not a very lucrative arrangement (a max of circa £120k) unless the player continues to develop at his new club and makes several appearances in the PL. There are bigger fees involved if that happens.

But if there are several clubs involved in bidding for our academy players and the EPPP isn't used to determine the fee, then it's possible that higher upfront fees will be negotiated with the potential for sell-on fees as well. It's not all loaded in the PL clubs' favour if there is more than 1 club involved but it all depends on how many clubs want our future 'stars' and are willing to pay for that.
