Demolish Forster Square retail park and flatten the buildings around it such as Halfords. Could build a right stadium there literally 2 minutes away from the city centre.

Actually it is the council who missed the opportunity. When the Westfield development stalled, that was the time to say ‘stop the bus’. City had just come out of administration and the great ‘hole in the City’ was there for 10 years.

They could have built the rail link between the Interchange and Forster Square, had a stadium incorporating shops, offices, conference facilities and parking....... but this is Bradford and the council have no vision.

They let the old Avenue ground go!

As they own the other great hole in South Bradford (which could have been sold for housing and/or commercial development), they have little vision and zero aspiration.

As someone said, about as creative as a concussed slug, and that is being rude to slugs!

the rail link between the two stations is nigh-on impossible, my grandad had been working and discussing this with the council for years.. the height of the two stations in comparison to each other would mean the drop between the interchange and forster square being too much and then there’s the logistics of the route it would take.

Those points are good and I'm sure are well meaning - However, they relate to Bolton, not BCAFC.

MY proposal was not just a new location, but a sporting village within reach of the City Centre, to serve for years to come........ Attracting World Wide events, whilst also serving the Citys' number one sport, on at least a fortnightly basis.

BCAFC don't need a 50k stadium, yet the City of Bradford could reap the benefits, for years to come with such as one. Add to that, all the advantages of holding other potential major sporting events ?

This could not only place Bradford firmly on the the grid - But SPORT in general, across both the UK and the Globe. All of which would benefit our City. With adequate facilities (Sport) and the necessary Hotels, etc - What's not to like ? All it will take is some VISION and a bit of cash (Bradford Council have pissed away so much cash - it beggars belief :( ).

Truly ....... It really IS 'doable' ............... ;)

All these fans advocating building a new stadium. Aside from being tied to a lease at VP for a few more years, I would be interested to know where or how the funds would be generated. You can rule out the council, by the way

Meanwhile all the pubs go out of business on North Parade, plus most of the others within walking distance of the ground, plus takeaways etc, making Bradford even more of a ghost town than it already is.

I know someone, a quite famous figure in Bradford and Yorkshire sport, who was involved in just such a scheme about a decade ago. The plans were drawn up to include a new stadium at Odsal and also other pitches around it. Sports involved were football, rugby, cricket and hockey. He said it was fantastic. Private investors were in place but the council found every excuse imaginable not to endorse it. So it came to nothing.

Pointless discussion though. Its like saying Eoin Doyle isnt good enough for us, lets talk about signing Harry Kane to replace him

Yeah ............ Much better to have a failed multicost 'Mirror pool', than a truly great image of where we could be. ;)

At last - a transfer rumour! Harry Kane to sign for BCFC. I know the lad likes a good curry and we have those aplenty.
