It’s remain for me. As one who does visit the area on non match days calling into Bar Italia for a chat and the best coffee and brandy going. The council and local landlords need to get the area tidied up and keep it tidy . The majority may want a new stadium but this won’t happen in my lifetime look how long it as taken to sort the Odeon out, and it’s still moving slowly. I’ll have a chat with the new Lord Mayor Doreen a Keighley lass she will sort it.

That should fund my floating stadium idea

What a great idea. You could moor it on the River Aire initially or even on the Leeds-Liverpool and then move it periodically to give the fans the opportunity to see other parts of the country and sample the local brews. I suspect you'll have to allow sufficient time to navigate the locks though! ;)

We, as a club, do need a long term plan, however while we have a short term owner the plan will never be longer that 10 months.

Facts are the council will never support the club. They cancel events outside the city centre due to “lack of funds” yet pet projects secured no problem. They found £3.1 m for a 1.4 mile cycle path some how. They wasted the LBA windfall on a pond, that is now broken. Leeds built a world class arena for the same money! How much has been wasted on the tip at Odsal?

If the club is to progress it needs to do it off its own back and that needs a leader/owner with true vision & the nouse to secure funding. I’m afraid that isn’t Rhodes & Rupp...

I can not imagine any long term plan that doesn’t include staying at VP. Financially it doesn’t make sense to move anywhere else.

I'll grasp anything to get rid of the mess we're in ! Is it that far fetched ? If I'd a told you 20 years ago that Smallford City a club that played on a cabbage patch with 180 folk and a dog watching will be running out at Valley Parade at the same level as a then Premier League club in 20 years ???

You would have had me carried off in a straight jacket to Storrs Hall ! ?

So Mike Ashley round a table with the Sausage Meister and the Nick Nak Peddler ? Ours is the short straw !

Thats Bradford Council for you mate. All that money gone on a broken paddling pool. Could have had the Odeon up and running years ago with that cash and had a big chunk of change left over.

Don't forget the big screen tv, not, (as many people thought), installed to show big live sporting events like they do in other cities, oh no, it's Sky News 24/7 that the people of Bradford want to see : unamused:

You made the comment, ‘You would have had me carried off in a straight jacket to Storrs Hall’ ! ? I checked Storrs Hall, and this is the only link! https://www.storrshall.com/

I then did a little more research, and came up with Storthes Hall! Given the first part of your sentence l assume this is what you were referring to? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storthes_Hall_Hospital

I guess most people in Bradford and/or on this board are not aware of former hospitals in Kirkburton.

Can I just remind you of one of your earlier posts, when you said, ‘Touchy subject that mental health ? Shouldn't make light of it Sir ?’. Which was in response to a post made about Lynfield Mount in the thread We Should Be The New Rangers!

So if l am strange (yet l check the spelling of things l am commenting on), then your comments when you criticise a poster for their content, yet make similar comments, seems exceptionally strange!

I don't think VP has any positives apart from it's big enough for the club to make good from big games.

It's in the wrong location and its been getting ever more "wrong" for 40 years, nobody would build it there today. The ST WOAP fanbase location article showed that they were predominantly from North Bradford.

That's where Jack Tordoff wanted to move to after the fire, and he was correct. Too late now unless something, miraculously happens on the South side at Odsal.

Every time this pops up, posters say there is nowhere to build a ground in Bradford "Can't do Bradfud" again....even tiny places find space for new grounds, but Bradford, nope, can't be done:)

Side of a hill, slap bang in the middle of a load of houses and businesses all around it. You couldn't pick a worse location building wise. At least if its going to be around that area stick it a flat bit of land, somewhere like the non descript retail park at Forster square would be decent, flatten all the shitty flatpack shops and you have a good footprint to build a cracking stadium 5 minutes walk from Centenary Square. And lets face it nobody would miss either the old stadium or the buildings in town that would need knocking down and you get a state of the art facility as a focal point in a dying city centre. Knock the crap down on the other side of the Hamm Strasse and you could build training pitches for all sorts of sport. Way to forward thinking for a can't be done Bradford, its the Bradford way. A pie in the sky dream but can be done if the will and money was there.

but we don't own it and as an asset it is not one that we would want to own. There is no income outside of the football games.
