I’m really not concerned that we haven’t signed any players. Anyone who is moaning about that now is being ridiculous. We need to get a manager in asap because what is far more concerning is Edin playing at being manager and signing players and doing the retained list himself because hes the only one at the club and he “knows football”.

Really? Has Edin said that we've no chance of promotion and we're giving up next season. Please name these "many other assurances that were made" that are now "out of the window"

I see virtually no difference to what they said then in comparison to what they say now. The big difference is that when they took charge the were preaching to an audience desperate for some optimism. So they gave it, but even then it was always said with caution and a caveat thrown in. We can always take a few words out of context and make out they promised the world

But don't take my word for it, read what they told the T&A the day they took over. I can't see any difference to what they're saying and doing now. They even say "we must manage expectations of the fans"!! Who says that in a wave of so called optimism??!!

The reason why I defended them is because I never saw them as an answer to every prayer in the first place. I saw them as a step above the previous odd couple, but not a Hoyle or Vincent Tan.

But maybe I'm wrong. I read every article about them when they took over and I found nothing that indicated we'd found a Jack Walker. I found plenty that told me we had some good pragmatic business people. Clearly, I read the wrong articles

 

Couldn’t give a shit who is brought in as manager. Just get the bloody thing done and dusted now for christ sake and we can move on to next season. Bored of it all now.

 

Fine by me, the fact that the coach might be English, German, French, Scottish, man or woman is irrelevant. An English failure is no worse, or no better than a German failure.

It could be a German woman for all I care, as long as they are successful.

It paid off for the dogs, yet failed for god knows how many Prem and CC teams!

Whoever it is should be welcomed and let results speak for their credibility

PS I hope there is a bigger squad clear out, much bigger than we have seen to date, thus letting the incoming coach make the team their own ASAP.

 

It’s been at least a fortnight since Rahic implied we were close to appointing someone in his Bantams Banter interview, clearly that’s not happened. Managers will always apply for jobs but it must be off putting when you have something to lose (a good reputation) and the only three guys to previously work under this current set up have all wanted out and walked away in one way or another.

 

Reading the T&A this morning, Edin has outlined a more complex interviewing process which involves several discussions with prospective candidates. Thorough, we will see whether it means you don’t have to keep sacking the managers. What I do like, although very different is that the players are not signing for the coach or manager but they will be signing for the club and the philosophy.

 

Sacked club legend when 5th in the league.
Brought in questionable recruitment practices that have led to £280k wasted on McCartan & Poleon.
Took money out of first team to fund development squad - overall quality dropped considerably.
Sold/Released high earners. Reduced budget.
Couldn't keep strong League 1 Manager due to lack of ambition.
Performance declines for first time in 6 seasons.
'Lost' 5k season ticket holders due to all of above.

I'm not in agreement on the wasted money on Shay yet. Through injuries and lack of selection he didn't get a run of games then when he scored he was dropped. Let's see how he fairs up to December.

 

We got 5 years service from an excellent left back. He grew as a player and we grew as a club.

My guess is he wasn't paid a massive amount either.

 

Which will be announced first our new coach or this seasons fixture list ?.

 

Lets face it we should have been looking since McCall was sacked as it was obvious from the off that Grayson was not going to be here past the end of the season. If our owners thought otherwise then they are more naive than i actually thought.

 

The theory which is closest to the truth, is that the job isn't very attractive. Our preferred candidates want two weeks to see if they can get a Manager's job elsewhere.

 

If you believe it has...or just an euphemism for wishing someone well which was possibly intended. But having issues with cancer, I am grateful for the medics that work with me and my faith as well.

I partly agree with you but its such a bastard disease sometimes even the Highly Skilled doctors
can not stop it
