Good point @Plastic Bantam, but as we all know when things go wrong the others as you suggest who were also a part of that success are not dismissed, just the manager.

 

To be fair Huddersbantam, I think you will find most managers dont have a great record in the immediate games before they are sacked! I am not saying he is the choice I would make but he does tick quite a few of the boxes based upon the owners strategy

 

That’s the way it is.. all managers know this... anyone other than Stuart the reaction would have been no where near the level it is.. and that’s the truth as all you ever see is people saying they’ve sacked a club legend.. not they’ve sacked a really good manager

If you read his quotes pre-season, he says that It's not about developing players, It's about Peterborough getting promoted. What a big season it is and he wants winners in his team.

He didn't get remotely close to that.

 

Your right that is the way it is, every manager gets the sack at some time in their careers (with the odd excepting), I think both your comments have been used, I'd suggest sacking the club legend is easier to defend than saying "they’ve sacked a really good manager" that would suggest to many if he was a good manager why have they sacked him.

 

I must be in the minority then when looking at his record since he came back the second time. Look at this way, Rahic felt him and Rupp had to make the call, they did. Turns out it didn't matter. The new guy tells him the squad isn't good enough, but nowt like stating the blindingly obvious. Rahic in the bantams banter video bangs on about being together as a tight unit. He says he has learned from mistakes made. Well lets hope he has learned those two mistakes. One, give the manager a squad fit for purpose and two, good man management from the top of a business down will get you the best results.

 

This is your fall back position, and to be honest it is insulting to the posters on here. I have never referred to Stuart as a club legend and I never would either. He was and still is a good manager and on occasions a very good manager. You are saying exactly what Edin is saying without any substantive evidence. No manager is perfect, everyone needs to understand that, even when Edin chooses his next manager, he will not be perfect, there will be things about him he doesn’t like, let’s hope he can keep his emotions in check before leaping for the exit button.

Let’s hope at some point Edin stick to the principles they came with, not to sack managers at the first obstacle they come across
