As far as I am aware the owners said on Saturday there would be an appointment next week. It’s only Tuesday calm diwn

 

I think he brought Grayson in at the time as A) there was hardly any options available
B) He lookedat his record and thought he could keep us in the promotion hunt

 

Rahic also said the same thing three(?) weeks ago (at least) in his interview with Bantams Banter.

 

If we are honest I think he came in on the basis that if he went up he stayed not if otherwise and that probably satisfied both parties. If he wouldn’t sign a contract.

 

No that was the reason Phil Parkinson left for Bolton, but as I say we will never agree on that one.

More like he came here blowing smoke up his own arse then quickly realised just what a clusterfuck this club was both on and off the field. All this bollocks about talks with Rupp and Rahic, he'd made up his mind very early on that he could not work under the circumstances that the club currently finds itself in. Not a huge loss but one has to ask why a manager of his undoubted ability at this level could not halt the slide of a sinking club. I'm guessing Rahic is hesitant in making a decision at this time because if he gets it wrong his already somewhat suspect reputation around Valley Parade will be shot to pieces.

 

The latest skybet odds for mccann and hopkin have drifted out to 8/1, which is strange when you consider mccann was looking a shoo-in at barnsley and hopkin at shrewsbury.

Both available but not looking like they are coming here.
That just leaves a red-hot hecky who has only just lost his job and some others we haven't heard of yet.
Cathro seems to have fallen off the radar.

Could do worse than appointing Mulder and Scully tbf.. they have good rep when dealing with aliens..

 

Another theory is those they have shortlisted are all very interested in the job (hence why we haven't seen any of them named as managers elsewhere yet because they are holding out for this one) and the reason it is taking so long is because Edin and Stefan are impressed with all of them and are finding it hard to make a decision.

 

The theory which is closest to the truth, is that the job isn't very attractive. Our preferred candidates want two weeks to see if they can get a Manager's job elsewhere.

 

I hope you're right Petrov, but with the admittedly limited info at our disposal, I do struggle to believe that there is a queue of impressive candidates forming in the Manningham area waiting in desperate anticipation to learn if they have been lucky enough to be chosen by Bradford City AFC.

I think the above may have come across as being a bit sarcastic

On the basis that we are looking to implement a radical change in the operation of the club, it is plausible that the owners have asked the applicants to spend some time to outline what they want to do. The owners, hopefully, will have been very candid with the applicants and they are now using this knowledge to develop their thinking further.

The owners need to be certain, as far as they can, that they are employing someone who is capable of delivering what they want. The vision of their head coach, and how this is to be implemented, should align with the owners’.

This may explain the delay, as the owners do their best for the future of the club.

Or, we are scratching around like a mole lost in a car park on hot summer’s day, confused and not sure what to do next, wondering quite how it got into this position.

If that was the case, why would they have even bothered applying for it in the first place? Edin has made no secret of the fact he wants a head coach and has also spoken about the budget being a lot lower than a lot of teams in this league so it isn't like they've only just found all that out from their interview.
