Bye bye Vaughan, let's see how long you stay at your next club. He's had more clubs than a Ryder cup team ,bad attitude and Ill disciplined the clubs better off without him.

The other even more important thing for me is that if he does go, we sign a suitable replacement, and not left floundering with a Guthrie type panic signing on the eve of the season startingOld city man, How, Fordy117 and 5 others like this. -

Oh Stuart said he isn't leaving...Ryan says he isn't leaving!
What two people who can't make decisions!!! Seriously some of you need to bloody wake up!
I told you all what happened with Doyle and even though Bowyer was rubbish he didn't want Doyle to leave but it was Rhodes who did the deal!

If we sell Wood, it'll be for money - which makes their comment about nobody paying fees in Div 1 & 2 utter nonsense. If we sell Wood it shows we're broke and have zero ambition. Stuart and Sparks will probably mumble something about not getting in the way of the lads promising career or other lip service bollocks, but it won't wash for most of us. Seriously, if they do sell Wood, it's about time someone actually sat down and told the truth, because the stink isn't just coming from James Vaughan in the changing room. It's coming from much higher upstairs.

Where has the pride we once had gone?
Rhodes and more so Rupp have allowed a number of players to take the p*&s out of our club.
Offering rediculous contracts to Akpan, O’Connell, Vaughan, Doyle, Riley, only for said players to either hang around and run down their contracts, or sulking to get a move away at a massive cost to the club.
The uncertainty about ownership and the CEO is not helping. We are drifting without a rudder. It’s time the club grew a pair and refused to be pushed around by has been oldies or even worse, young upstarts.
Stuart is hopefully beginning to right the wrongs of the last 4 years. Now for an ownership/CEO team to get us back on track and put some pride back into the club. How, Bantamsteve, Idlebantam and 5 others like this. -
It seems ludicrous that we would start a process whereby another club were willing to give us something in return for one of our players and we've managed to negotiate ourselves into a position where we got absolutely nothing instead.
However, that's exactly what it looks like we've managed to do. Joke.Rcbantam, Briggus, bantam2708 and 5 others like this. -

In all seriousness some of you just don't know the club you follow.
You've this Rhodes is great mindset some of you but don't understand how he operates. Vaughan was always leaving the club. 100% he was leaving!

- It's quite simple (!) - had a long chat with JV and nearer it got to coming back he became more negative
- He's got young family, lives is Merseyside, 4 hour round trip, sounded like he didn't have appetite for travelling
- Nothing to do with Bradford, it came down to location
- Did we want him? 100% but he wasn't committed and didn't want to be here
- We have some positive, young, impressionable players here now so it was for the best for him to go
- JV was honest and open, he didn't want to play for us
- People say let him rot in the reserves but people know he's our top paid player and what good would that do for us? (irrelevant point given the salary cap)
- People saying it was clear JV would move on and in last week/ten days we thought he'd go
- In last two weeks we've tried to get some strikers in but coming down to league 2 is a stumbling block
- Question - couldn't you have demanded a transfer fee? A - there's no one in division 1 or 2 that could have paid a fee and the wages he was on. No one was going to pay a transfer fee. (except we did for Watt!)

He's clearly a ding-dong.
But the club had him under contract for two of the last years of his playing career, if the guy wants to play silly games shove him on gardening leave until an offer comes in, or see how his attitude changes when he realises he'll get his release at the age of 34 having not played a game for 24 months.
James Vaughan was in a lose-lose situation, he had absolutely zero bargaining power, and he's STILL played us like the mugs we are.Tolly856, Aaron Baker, How and 4 others like this. -

I live 10 mins down the road from Vaughan and on a match day (Saturday) it takes about 80 mins each way. Granted, at rush hour, through the week it takes 2+ hours each way but he knew that when he signed! I'm not arsed he's gone as he was clearly a bad apple but, as many here have already said, the fact we did this deal after the salary cap came in is tantamount to negligence from the club. We've gone from counting half of a 3k (allegedly) per week wage towards the cap to needing to count all of it, assuming we pay the same amount to his replacement (and yes, I know that's a big assumption!). Just a tiny bit of foresight and financial planning from someone in power and we could have avoided that. I'd be hauled over the coals at my work for making such a mistake!
