We are struggling in a poor division and I see 12 to 18th bringing our finishing position at best. Glad I won't be there to see it.

 

They really don't do themselves any favours. I'm sure that remark was made to try and put fans minds at rest that we had learnt from the Doyle debacle and wouldn't be making that kind of mistake again thank you very much. Then what do we go and do today? Honestly it's beyond satire now.

Reckon a lower (non) league player will take his place, lower wage, chance to show his worth.

 

Its simple. He didn't want to play for us and our board found a cheap way to get shut of our highest earner.

Regardless of the best deal, yet again the person running our club wants short term profit until such a time he can cut his losses.

Make no mistake, we're league twos Charlton Athletic but unfortunately we have fans like @Park bantam instead of those that demand better.

You won't like this but the cows arse have had it spot on since the German takeover but the fingers in the ears brigade seem so far to have won the day.

If money's too tight to mention we have to at the very least show we are no mugs and definitely no pushovers.With passion, commitment and an ability to play to a shape that suits us there would be little to moan about. Sadly the German connection remains somewhat an enigma..although in these very uncertain times could still be mis-understood.We need a spark of ingenuity right now to give us a lift. But, as most true fans, we remain in fervent hope of better to come.

I can understand your confusion.

It seems ludicrous that we would start a process whereby another club were willing to give us something in return for one of our players and we've managed to negotiate ourselves into a position where we got absolutely nothing instead.

However, that's exactly what it looks like we've managed to do. Joke.

 

So it's been on the cards since he first went out on loan but we've left it till after the new salary cap regulations have come in to get rid. He's wanted to go all along, Tranmere have worked on the deal through lockdown according to Vaughan but we make out we've only realised since he's been back at training a week or so to clock on to the fact he doesn't want to be here.
And we wonder why fans don't believe the club is run properly.

 

Stuart and Ryan would’ve gained more respect at the fans forum if they’d come out and said “we want him to stay but the players head has been turned”. Why make out we’re the Billy big bollocks, then 3 weeks later let him go for free. They deserve all the stick they’re getting, we’ve been lied to, for far too long now. Enough is enough.

 

If they'd said at the fans forum that any player who doesn't want to be here is free to leave i'd have more respect for it. I'd be more than happy to have told the over rated Vaughan that he is free to go, it would have been the perfect opportunity to get a high earner off the books and use the money elsewhere. But no, the club have let it get to this stage where they're getting pelters for something that essentially could have been turned into a positive if they'd managed it properly. I have no confidnce in this club moving forward under its present off field set up.

 

To be fair, turning down the offer of Payne is about the only thing the club have got right in the way this has been handled. He isn't an adequate replacement, we need better.

 

Yep. At the time they said that Stuart was looking at other forward options because he said on the interview earlier that he'd been looking to bring in players over the last couple of weeks but they wouldn't drop down to league two! Shows how badly prepared for that question they were because they knew it was likely he would leave at that time.
