Comfortable in my comments because the majority (club owners, CEO's) see it the same as me which is why ex players with no management experience 'usually' start off as coaches or at the very bottom of the football pyramid.

If you are looking for a Roy Keane or Paul Ince in a relegation dogfight then you are mistaken.

 

We have 2 choices, First is to appoint a manager till the end of the season, This would limit those available to those desperate to find employment and cast off by other clubs or a gamble on someone new to management,
Second would be to look for a long term appointment and in my view it ideally would be a youngish manager who has previously demonstrated some success and may already be employed so will cost money, It seems strange in football where the most important appointment in the club and one that will determine the success or otherwise of the club and reflect on its finances are often done on the cheap or free, Clubs often wonder why they are never successful yet continue to try get a manager on the cheap while the successful ones spend lots of money getting the right person when needed.

Well the odds are stacked against us on this one, so wouldn’t worry too much. After what we have been through this year I would welcome him back tbh, but if I had a choice I would bring McCall back with this squad.
