I didn't take him for a quitter. Its just ridiculous though. The absolute last thing we need with a quarter of the season to go and relegation looming is the manager to walk.

 

So we'll get to see if Fordys wish really gives us that much of a boost. I'm confident that this will actually make it worse and that's a biggest statement after the shower at the weekend.

Might be just the kick up the arse that useless lot require to get a few wins together.
I really don't know who is or was worse, the players or the manager.
Talk about a club in turmoil.

 

I have to assume its based on him seeing the trajectory of the club and he's getting out while he can. He's not getting a tune out of us, and he'll know that our hands will still be tied with some of our hefty contracts in the summer - but his budget would be even smaller in League 2.

I fear for our existence over the next couple of years.

 

Blimey. Perhaps had his limitations, but he was dealt the worst possible hand with a rotten bunch of players both technically and mentally. They ought to feel a lot of guilt today over Hopkin walking, and indeed the general state of the season. I do wonder if the lack of decent defensive additions and wingers in January was financially driven or tactically driven by Hopkin. Either way, I feel that is what has led to him no longer being manager...

 

Where do we even go from here, no respecting manager will want this job. If Saturday didn’t confirm relegation, this certainly does.

 

Are we the next Leyton Orient in awaiting?

I really hope the players are pleased with themselves, especially the defence. Can’t even do the basics.

The only positive from this whole sorry state of affairs is that whoever comes in, doesn’t have to deal with the interference of Rahic. Might prove to be a little bit more attractive than 6 months ago.

 

Unbelievable Jeff...he can dress it up as much as he wants that he’s doing us a favour and giving us a chance but perhaps he just doesn’t have the players onside?

Also, the bosses don’t have to accept his resignation - are they not fussed for trying to convince him to stay?

In an effort to try and stay in League 1, this might be the best chance we have!

 

Players should be the ones getting sacked, feel for Hopkin, fans turned on him straight away whilst players cocked up week in week out.

 

So who will replace him?

Grayson?

 

I could very easily see this club going out of business over the next couple of years.

What an absolute mess. Who's going to want to touch this job now?

We need a fighter. Someone who can dig a side out of League 2 on a budget. John Coleman? But why would he leave Accy to come here - which says it all.

 

Be interesting to see, nobody on here who was been calling for Hopkin to leave has offered a good suggestion as to who they would replace him with.
