The 1st one isn't poor game management as we had just scored and were on top plus Connolly was free, if the cross had have been better it may have resulted in us scoring or at least getting a corner etc.

Agree GM. Most of the game we seemed to lack composure in and around the final third which was a shame as we moved the ball around much more quickly than we had in the earlier weeks.

I might be wrong but going from memory the only ball that found a city shirt all game was the low ball from Ismail to Donaldson for the disallowed goal. Still not convinced that was offside Donaldson seem to come from very deep. Thankfully didn't effect the result. Hopefully just a bad day at the office. There's no point playing two up top if the crossing is of that standard again. Worked it in to some great areas and as you say tempo much better. Positive signs but room for improvement. Think we could have a really good side here if we find some consistency.

Have people noticed that, had WE scored the late winner in the tight game at home to Forest Green, we would now be top of the League? No other team stands out this year as yet so we're not really that far off the pace for a run at the title if we keep improving.

Or beat Cambridge or Scunthorpe when playing against 10 men for the amount of minutes we did against them.

We're in touch at the too despite only playing well for 2 or 3 games. Our performances are getting better though. Largely because of the role Cooke is playing, but also with the likes of Ismail, Connelly and Pritchard getting match sharp.

An injury to Cooke would worry me. Hes hugely important

Looks a great player at this level. Posh's centre of the park must be strong if he can't get in the squad and deemed surplus.

Somebody may correct me, but dont they have a policy of making anyone with a year on their contract, available for transfer? Maybe hes in that category. Let's see how he does over the season but I'm very surprised no one in league 1 wanted him

He’s still young as well, only a year older than Devine sadly you can see the difference.

I agree. I mentioned earlier in the thread I just can't understand when we are several yards inside the area we still try to hit high floated crosses. Surely better to drill it in. Happened numerous times on Saturday

Just for once I actually thought Devine did ok when he came on as sub. He seemed to bring a bit more pace and energy to the midfield and closed players down well to see the match out

I'm certainly not getting carried away. I've been amongst his biggest critics.
Like I said, he was ok against Scunny, but nothing more - ie, he made no obvious mistakes but did nothing particularly creative.

Saturday he was decent, but no more than he ought to be capable of every week. He has the tools, but all too frequently chooses not to use them. It looks like being dropped from the match day squad a few games back may have rattled his cage. Time will tell whether he keeps trying or reverts to his lazy ways.

I think he could be a force to be reckoned with in this division, but I certainly agree that another quality CM added in January would be ideal, because we can't guarantee his consistency. What's annoying is that it oughtn't to be necessary, because if Akpan performs consistently to his potential then he, Cooke and Palmer ought to be enough CM quality and we could then spend more on a decent striker to supplement Vaughan and the Don.

Does show that there is a plan B. As a centre back I hated playing against one striker. 4-4-2 is so much easier to play against as its clear what your role and who your man is

Our best crosser of a ball is Wood, the lad continually pings in accurate crosses. Connolly is quick and his stock move is going to the byline so those crosses have to be way more accurate. Ismail looks to come inside more so has more options than just a cross.
