The fact that forest green are top of the league Tells you all you need to know about this division.

They were truly dreadful at our place, yet came away with 3 points, purely through spoiling and fortune. I’ll show my arse if they finish above us. We are nailed on for a top 3 spot. Once we find consistency, which we will, we will be unstoppable. There is nobody with a better squad in this division, and for that I applaud bowyer.

Make no mistake, the job he had turning us around was one of the toughest in the football league.

We were rubbish last year but compared to the relegated teams we’ve turned it round the best

Bowyer's doing a good job but let's not go over the top now. I'm not how sure pushing for promotion with a top 3 budget constitutes as "remarkable" and I also don't know how we can possibility have the best squad in the division when we're 6th in the league

It doesn't take much to get hero status on here does it? It's either that or call for the managers head 5 games in.

We are 6th in the league now yes. But we had a brand new team that had never played together before, at the start of the season. The last 6 games have seen a vast improvement over the start of the season. That’s because all the new players now know how to play together in a settled 11. Not that difficult to work out. Save my post and quote me at the end of the season. I won’t be wrong.

Your knowledge of the game is clearly far superior to mine if you already know where we're going to finish 12 games into the season. On top of that, you've clearly done your homework on the other 23 teams to accurately tell me that we're better than all of them.

Fair play, I can't really argue with that.

I look forward to getting promoted as league 2 champions then.

He came on against a poor ten man Scunthorpe side, he was a 7 out of 10 yesterday in league 2. Lets not get too carried away. I would still be looking to sign a better player than him whether that be in January or in the summer.

We will finish in the top 3. Mark my words. Its a realistic outcome if we can keep key players fit and strengthen well in January.

Personally I don't think we've played that well this season, at least until yesterday, and we are 6th. No teams have scared me to be honest, maybe Cheltenham away, so I think we should be up there. Connolly and Ismail excite me with the pace and the tricks. See you all at Morecambe!!

Yes. I think you may be in the minority. What did he do? He broke up lots of play and did the basics well. Yes, there was a few wayward passes.... but you could say that about most of the team during the 90mins.

I think you’re being overly critical

He was actually better this week than last week at Scunny or even the last home performance against Carlisle

Answered your questions. Ha defending was solid enough. But you asked if he gave the ball away and my answer is yes, he did. That said, he wasn’t alone. Personally, I’d have rated him a 6 (the lowest rating of any of our players).

TBF, was that his intention by cupping his ears? It could have been his way of saying he was milking the applause and reaction of the crowd on his goal. We don’t know he was having a dig at the fans.

When Liverpool scored their winner yesterday and the Liverpool fans erupted with relief, Klopp did a similar gesture to their fans. Was he making a point to them or saying what a wonderful sound a packed ground make?

I’m surprised nobody has knocked Connolly for constantly trying to gee the fans up. The Kop were singing and chanting the whole game and didn’t need any players telling them to up their game.

But he is applauded for his gesture, whilst Akpan “is on dodgy ground”. Not that any of this is aimed towards you BTW

It’s not Rugby League you know, when fans just walk to the opposite end at half time :p

You’ve not answered the question Exile asked. How do you know that is what he was doing? Surely if he was wanting to have a pop at the fans, he’d be better to put his finger to his lips to ‘shush’ them? Cupping his ears proves nothing. I think you’re guessing and making something out of nothing.

Amazing how a performance and a goal can turn a sh*t lazy waste of space into a player that fans always knew had the ability.

Better performance all round, liked how we played with CD upfront and Pritchard in a 10 position and then supporting when we progressed up the field, liked the fact that we can play without having to play in a 442 and mix it up. Cooke I thought was excellent, Connolly is doing what he does best and is exciting if unpredictable and pleased for Shay to get a goal. be interesting to see who plays on Saturday after that performance.

Like many - I will get on the 'We are going up !' bandwagon once City can add some much needed consistency in their results and performances.
It's easy to 'look' good against average sides which also result in a City victory, however a good team needs to show that same level against the best teams, too.

As you suggest - Interesting times ahead. Can Bowyer now mix 'n' match game plans during game time on a regular basis, or will he continue to make errors with poor squad calls and onfield decisions ?

Anyone else notice 2 minutes after we had scored, we had a free kick inside Swindons half, Pritchard sprinted to take it quickly which he did to Connolly.
Connollys cross was too long and Swindon scored from the clearance.
Also with 5 mins left Pritchard stopped a Swindon players header from going out for a throw in level with the Swindon penalty area.
IMO he should have done neither and slowed the game down, like most teams we play against do.
Poor game management and something that I hope GB has a word with the players about.

It wasn't just that period for me. The crossing was woeful all game. Every cross over hit or didn't stay in play. That was the only poor part of our play on Saturday in my opinion.
