Donaldson gave the centre backs a battle yesterday and fit the pattern of play very well. I'd be very disappointed if we changed the formula from yesterday, it's the first time i've come away from a game this season buzzing about the game. Yes, i could pick faults and there are several personnel within that formula that i would change but overall i was very pleased with the way we played. First time i can say we have truly dominated a game and that was because we had the extra body filling the midfield gaps.

What about the atmosphere yesterday? I can't remember the last time the place was rocking like that, especially the last 15 minutes. Helps getting rid of the utterly dreary take me home as the walk on music, the fans really responded to Hi ho silver lining.

The defender got a toe on it before it got to Shay

Yeah he did really well to get back for it, really bust a gut and it was just the slightest touch... really unlucky for Shay, would have been quite some impact off the bench if he got that too. Great work from Connolly, the game completely opened up once they switched him and Ismael, I'd like to see them start with Connolly on the right and Ismael on the left next week (assuming it's the same starting line-up / formation) as Connolly was wasted on the left

How do you work out he was having a go at the fans? For me he was just enjoying the goal after a long, long drab spell. But not just a goal, it was the one that put us in front. It was surely a case of "more, more, I'm loving it".

Vaughan missed penalty at Walsall as well.

I was speaking to my mate this morning.
He agreed it was the best performance of the season.
For me that formation will yield us the greatest stability and more chances created as i feel our midfielders are our greatest source of goals.
    Pritchard, Ismail, Connelly, McCarten.
Interchangeable, pace, good footwork and not afraid to shoot.
Add to this a shield in front of the defence of 2 midfielders
Will GB have the bollocks to keep this or give in to El Capitano and go 2 up top again.

After cupping his ears to the Kop he shushed the west stand.
Making his point i think, but what point is that i don't know.

I was a bit miffed with GB for having Donaldson up front on his own, being at home against a poor overhyped Swindon side, but was more than happy to be proved wrong, the formation worked in the end but GB now has a dilemma for Morecambe. I also feel we finally hit 2nd gear yesterday for the first time this season. Akpans best game for over a year, the way he won the ball back after losing it, ultimately leading to Shays goal, was brilliant. Sitting quite close to the away end, I thought their equaliser was definitely offside but can’t find any other highlights to back it up. My MOTM was Cooke, such a good player already and has a great footballing brain for a young player

Really looking forward to Morecambe now!!

They might not lie but they often don’t tell the full story. Donaldsons “assist” yesterday being case and point.

All players miss penalties, it’s no reason not to pick our best forward.

Cupping his hands to his ears means he's loving it? Each to their own but not for me.

Maybe after the stick he's recieved (justified at times) Akpan thought he'd give a little back, hope to see him do it again next Saturday at Morecombe ;).

At times? Any stick he's recieved is 100% justified. Fans can forgive a lack of talent but one thing we should never accept is a lack of effort and desire. Akpan is guilty of both at present and one swallow doesn't make a summer!

His performances so far this season.

He's been better overall than any other striker we have in the squad. It's as simple as that.

I'll take him running infront of us as many times as he likes cupping his hand to his ear.

Hearing Bowyer post match comments on Radio Leeds he was more than happy with Akpans display saying he knows Hope is capable of more displays like yesterdays.

One thing yesterday highlighted more than ever is how bloody poor this league really is.

People being scared of Swindon and saying a draw at home would be a good result need to face the wall and have a word with themselves.

@JonButterfield@JonButterfield amd others saying we would be midtable or play offs need to understand how poor this league is.

We should be doing a Ipswich now but we're slowly getting there. This league is deadful.

Bradford City will be a top 3 team come the end of the season. Anything less is utter failure and Bowyer should be sacked!

Agree Fordy, Played terrible for most part of the season and we are 3 points shy of the summit. The draws against Cambridge and Scunthorpe against 10 men have cost us top spot essentially when we really should've taken all 3 points. I'm with you. Not going to get an easier chance of promotion than this year. Looks a really poor league this year. If we aren't top 3 it is a failure in my opinion. Just need to find some consistency and I think there's no one to touch us. Need to keep Cooke fit as he's massively improved us and we are controlling games now. If we can be a bit more ruthless in the final 3rd I think we'll beat anyone in this league. Not seen anything from opposing teams to fear as of yet this season.

I’ll use your argument against you. Stats plain and simple, he’s our top scorer.
