What is your general knowledge of players in non-league / youth teams?

    I'm new to this, so if I have posted this in the wrong place, please feel free to move to the correct place.

    On Tuesday, I was surprised and impressed by @How@How's level of knowledge of Man City's kids. Personally speaking, I had never heard of any of their starting line up, let alone be able to pick up key players. However he did and backed his judgement with wonger.

    It got me thinking. What do you know about players in non-league football and/or juniors in Premier League u21 teams?

    There used to be a poster on here by the name of Cougar who was knowledgeable on the players coming up through the PL ranks. But unfortunately for you, he no longer posts on BT.

    Although he was knowledgeable on football, he was aggressive, argumentative and disruptive on here. He also liked to have the last word, felt he was being treated unfairly and didn't appreciate being challenged about his own behaviour. The site is better off without him and his previous attempts to rejoin the site with a different username had previously been thwarted. ;)

    I watch most of the Man Utd u18 and u23 matches (And even attend some of them) so I know a fair bit about United's and I obviously see every other team they play twice a season.

    In Football Manager I also usually put a fair bit of focus on youth players so you pick up some knowledge of the youth players at the level you are playing until the youth players all age out of the youth teams so you just have the regen youth players

    I’ve been viewing this site from afar for a while and don’t ever recall this poster? Was he a scout or like Simon, did he just watch lots of reserve/youth games? Or did he just get his info from Football Manager/FIFA games?

    It always fascinates me how some know so much about players. I struggle to know what our own players are capable of, let alone kids at clubs that we’re unlikely to see play

    Cheers Simon. So I take it you’re a Man U fan then and not a City fan? How come you ended up posting on here?

    How do you manage to get to so many games? Don’t they tend to play afternoons and/or Saturday mornings? I’m sure that’s when our youth play their games. Are there any young lads that you’d suggest City should be keeping an eye on, with a view to loans in January?
