Think you are right it was strange I distinctly remember going in Autumn then not going till spring (never known a place as cold in winter) and there was Tench but no Perch
You've got me thinking of a trip across after the school holidays was always rammed with kids

How on earth did you dig that up
I remember it being the mid to late 70s (you were nothing but a twinkle then) and never could understand why only Perch were affected, you would have loved it float fished live minnow on a treble hook in 4ft of water produced some excellent fish

Today's bream caught at Raygill using method feeder with maggots. Also caught loads of perch on raw prawn.

If you like bream and roach I can highly recommend Semerwater Lake. Used to love a trip up there into the Dales.

I'll give it a go. But still able to catch decent sized perch on the prawn.
£7.50 foe a box of worms at KL Tackle, Keighley.
Seem to be in short supply in my garden!

Mine too although I dare say I could find some in the compost heap
£7.50 for a box of worms is far too steep could buy Fish AND Chips for that :joy::joy:

it’s all relative but it’s one of the more heavily fished spots as it’s close to the road and an un-daunting proposition in terms of size. It’s where we’ve tidied up loads of litter before, which is why we usually fish the main loch as that is so big, you normally see no one. I started up by the Dam in the main loch, that afternoon but saw nothing, the wee loch can fish like that after the spawning, if you catch it right so was my plan B. It gets flooded in winter and joins the big loch so usually there will be some migration of fish to and from each, it’s also a spawning location as it’s shallow and weedy in parts.

    Just got in !!
I always enjoy an overnight session good laugh with the others, peace and quiet, lots of wildlife roaming around with the added advantage of a midnight curry delivery what's not to like !!! Although it did drop a bit cold and damp about 1.00am
Just had a couple, a Mirror Carp 11lb 4oz and a horrible snotty Bream about 6lb didn't weigh it (too much slime)
Are you wetting a line today ??
