    Carp fisherman for many years Skye
    One hot sunny day waiting for them to start topping was sat in next peg to a man and his wife The man was asleep when he woke his wife said
    "Did you know there's been a little bird sat on your rod whilst you've been asleep" To which he replied "Not for a long time"
    I thought it was funny anyway

    Yesterday's match at Raygill was won by my lad with 24lb including a 7.5lb carp. He even got a trophy as well as a coveted cap, currently being displayed on the mantle piece with mine until such time as the wife tells us to grow up!

    It's totally acceptable in this day and age for blokes to do girly things like sunbath on the top of a canal barge, whilst moseying along the leeds liverpool canal. I don't know why james bond never used this as a theme/location tbh as it sounds very lavish :D

    Fished a 4 hour competition at Raygill this evening. Only caught one fish, but it was enough to walk away with first prize of £30 _ a 15lb carp.

    Day trips are not insured for locks but there is a a 20+ mile stretch between Gargrave and Bingley with no locks. Tbh, seeing as we are meeting in Wetherspoons at 8am, operating locks will be well beyond us by noon, so no bad thing. It's very good value...£190 9am-4pm for up to 10 people. Weather looking good too at 19/20c, beer to be picked up en-route (Morrisons at the first bridge) and then hopefully still sober enough to watch he CL final in Skipton. :)
