Fishing and waterways

Please do, fished the town stretch in skipton a few times. Some nice skimmers in there, tommy ruffe too!

 

Sounds good that. I used to fish a small lake near selby a lot when younger and the carp lads did really well in summer surface controller fishing. We used to get there for evenings, just a rod and a few bits, fish the margins with corn/meat against the lillies stalking them great fun it was. The cat fishing looks serious. I do a fair bit of piking up here but my closest venue is 2hrs away so not as much as i'd like. so predator fishing of any type i'd have a bash at. Rest of the time it's fly fishing, trout, sea trout and salmon bit of sea fishing chucked in, mainly aquiring plenty of mackerel for winter/spring piking on the massive lochs i fish though.

What's the biggest wels you've had then?

 

I've tried boilers before. I find a combi with sweetcorn is the best BOILIES!!

 

Impressive that Broncs. You sound like the dad in Danny the Champion of the World! Which is no bad thing.

 

Cheers Steve, maybe one day. The barbel fishing over there look good too. 49lb wow, amazing. My biggest pike is not quite half the weight of that!! Always chasing 20s, maybe another scottish twenty this season, seems a while since my first one tbh. But when the alarm goes you just never know that's the beauty of it. Tight lines.

slow down the pace today with a stoll along the rochdale canal. @Hulmebantam is currently cycling along the towpath to the game like Howard off Last of the summer wine. Maybe a rendzvous with Marina on the cards the dirty dog.
