This is lovely. I expect you are amazed by this revelation, but I'd love wandering my way upstream there, flicking a klinkhamer fly into the likely little nooks and crannies to winkle out a trout or two.

    I'll alert the authorities.

Only joking. It's a good walk we do that takes in Oakworth, Haworth & Oxenhope stations.

Cracking. Used to live in one of the three storey terraced cottages along back leeming in oxenhope. We used to play down by the stream that follows that rd down into oxenhope. Think it drains from leeming reservoir. Long time ago like, left there when i was still in primary school, lovely part of the world that.

I've hired a barge in Skipton on Satdi, once I remove the restrictor I should be able to do donuts and everything, careering down the canal breaking as many poles as possible whilst hurling empty beer cans at dog walkers.

Thats on a par with me filling my screen washer bottle with urine and " cleaning " my screen when passing cyclists.

    :D

I reckon the tiller area of a barge would be dead easy to hit with pouches full of maggots.

I am not the friggin tiller man, I am delegating, from either within or the roof (sunbathing), my subordinates can do the hard work.

It's totally acceptable in this day and age for blokes to do girly things like sunbath on the top of a canal barge, whilst moseying along the leeds liverpool canal. I don't know why james bond never used this as a theme/location tbh as it sounds very lavish :D

I saw some royal wedding parties last Saturday on the boats and it looked fun. Beer, music and good company, there are 10 of us so should be a good do.:)

Day trips are not insured for locks but there is a a 20+ mile stretch between Gargrave and Bingley with no locks. Tbh, seeing as we are meeting in Wetherspoons at 8am, operating locks will be well beyond us by noon, so no bad thing. It's very good value...£190 9am-4pm for up to 10 people. Weather looking good too at 19/20c, beer to be picked up en-route (Morrisons at the first bridge) and then hopefully still sober enough to watch he CL final in Skipton. :)

Sounds great. Can you be done for being drunk in charge of a narrowboat? No doubt ok. Probably one of them old legal loopholes, like being able to shoot someone with a bow and arrow in nottingham on a bank holiday, you know, one of those kind of loopholes.
