Expectations?

When was the last time ANY team scored 184 goals in League2? Some crackpots on here at the moment

 

128 in 1928/29. Wow.

Next best 94 in 61/62. A certain Bronco Layne netted 34 goals.

 

134 by Peterborough in 1960/61.

 

Maybe our beloved ‘friend’ can revise his demands from 4 goals per game down to 3 to make it more ‘reasonable’?

 

Perfectly doable is this if we get our heads up and sign the correct players. Why would it not be feesible to score 4 goals against Salford if your Bradford City ? Or a least it should be ! The two clubs are just not on the same planet. As recently as 2000 we were Premier League and Salford City were probably being watched literally by one man and his dog ? Lets get real about this and stop already making excuses. Set the expectation high !

 

And apart from a few years we have been in the third or fourth tier for the Las sixty years. Sunderland are a huge club and they are not running away with the first division. We should be aiming high but expecting it to be difficult

 

Agree. Sunderland are a huge club in a massive lake. We are a big club in a small pond.

 

Why settle for four?

 

Great lets go for 5 ! if we cannot muster enough chances in a 90 minute game playing "pub footballers" its time to give up. Including the 4th tier in the Football League is "a stretch" for me ? The FL is really The 48 not the 72 ?. Division Two is more "the bedfellow" of the National League so really it is an NL 48. If Bradford City cannot finish in one of the three automatic places it is really time to pack the club up and lets all find another one !?

 

That's the problem we all share. If my grandfather hadn't been so cruel and taken me to the Boleyn in '58, I'd of had more than a few options.

How much does it cost you to travel to games, seen as you are clearly living on another planet? It is absolutely irrespective as to what leagues we were playing in, in 2000.

Maybe Liverpool needed your guidance in 1988, when they got beaten 1-0 by a side only elected into league division 4 some 11yrs prior...?

Remind me again, which league will Fleetwood be playing in next season, or for that matter, Accrington Stanley?

with all due respect buddy, on other threads you're exhorting us to go out and sign practically half the salford starting 11, and yet now you're saying thats the type of team we should be tonking 4 or 5-0, so which is it?

Already said a club the size of Bradford City need to be signing all the best players at this level of football. So it's a choice play for Salford or Forest Green or Crewe or some other pub team . Or come and play for a club the size and history of ours ? It's not even question is it or it should not be. Bowyer should have no problem assembling a team fit for automatic promotion and Rhodes & Rupp have to make sure of that ! ..then yes with the squad we assemble we go out and perform like we must when we've managed to land ourselves at such a lowly and frankly humilatingly poor level. Every game we should expect to win and win well.
