What I don't get is that surely these players must be shit if you expect us to batter them so why would you want to sign any of them?

    35 years pal.
I’ve seen the ups and downs like many football fans have but sinking to the bottom league and struggling in it would be hard to stay positive about.

Are BSA still a functioning brand and are the Bantam bikes produced?

Perhaps they never saw that Honda 175’s would take their place.

Rather than expecting to ‘romp’ away with the league, we should adopt a more sanguine and pragmatic approach.

We need to rebuild the team and get the players to gel. This City project is not up to speed.

If we get an automatic place next season it will be incredible.

Hearing a decent budget next season and bigger than any we have ever had in league two.

Not sure how much of that is taking into account players we already have and may not get rid of.

Bowyer got a big rebuild job to do and I hope this week is spent getting his backroom staff sorted now the seasons coming to an end.

I would be interested to see how 'big budgets' affected our performance in L2 last time.

    Wasn't McCall's initial budget whopping?

How did that compare to Parky's, who I doubt would have accepted excuses given he was backing his demands up with copious successes.

His budget in his second year I think was the best in the league we had just started with the cheap tickets I think that year was a wasted opportunity

Was it larger or significantly larger than the budget Parky had?

Like we were just a few short years ago? And actually for the most part of our history? Do you not remember our plight when first Jacko kept us up with Taylor’s squad and then Parkinson stopping us slumping into non-league with Jacko’s squad?

In fact, before you could get relegated from the bottom tier, how many times have we finished bottom and had to reapply to play the season after?

We’ve been here many times before. No, it doesn’t make it easy but it’s certainly not something I’d want to “call it a day” for, if this bunch of hopeless players can’t get us higher than 13th. Yes, we want higher and certainly top7, but without Bowyer being able to completely rebuild in 1 window, that may not happen next season

I thought I read at the time, that the budget afforded to Parky was the highest we’d ever had in L2. He’d already been given a substantial war chest but when we got to January still in the cup, he was given even more to spend.

I’m sure I remember something from Lawn saying we would have had a big deficit had we not had the cup run and promotion

Only problem is ............ The other 23 Clubs don't know their budgets (Budgies ? ) yet ! ;) And WHO are the other 23 ??
Promotion and relegation's to be fought for, before the Play offs even begin. :)

I am sure most have had discussions at this stage. Not that we would know but most managers will know

I try not to be negative when I can, and certainly not what I'd call negative for the sake of it. However before peoples eyes light up at a top 3 budget there's one thing to remember. According to a few sources we have the 4th or 5th highest budget at this level, looking at the teams below if we kept this team we'd probably have the highest budget full stop. So I can't get excited about a budget reduction when we are as bad as we are, and of course there's the problem of trying to off load the higher earners which could cost, even before bringing new players in.

No point having a big budget if it is wasted on dross like this season . No more wage stealers and sick notes needed at city .

Sounds like propaganda to me, he's no idea what other teams will have yet. Regardless we should have the biggest budget, Rupp owes us to get us out of this division at the first attempt. But I'm sure some will be happy just to avoid relegation.

Agree with Glenn about the 84-5 team. Also my all time favourite squad of players which was cobbled together on the cheap too

If the reported top 2 budget is true and Rupp is eager to put things right, then here are a few players I think we should be after:

David Worrall. 28 years old, plays on the right wing or CM and has excellent credentials. named Bury's Young Player of the Year in 2009–10, helped them win promotion out of League Two in 2010–11, and was voted their player of the of the year in 2011–12. He also part of the Millwall squad that got promotion out of league 1 at our expense. I think he was on the bench for the Wembley final. Currently out of contract at Port Vale.

Danny mayor-Left winger. League 2 players of the year in 2014-15, a proven league 1 player, scored at 1 in 4 this year, named in this years league 2 team of the season and is out of contract at Bury. Any chance of signing him will depend on whether Bury get promoted or not.

Daniel Powell. Another winger. 28 years old and a regular for MK Dons for 7 years playing in league 1. Clearly proven at a level above where we'll be playing next season and was a major player for MK dons in their promotion into the Championship in 2015. Out of contract at Northampton

Ben Turner- Part of the Cardiff squad that got promoted from the Championship and made 33 premiership appearances for them the following season. Currently a regular for Mansfield at Centre Back who are having a great season and is out of contract at the end of this season. I'm absolutely staggered that he dropped down to that level. We should be in for him if Mansfield don't get promoted. Sign him up, bring in that Donovan guy who sounds like a decent player, reloan P O'Connor if possible and that's our troublesome Centre Back position sorted.

Strikers- I'll take Wes Thomas who's scored at close to 1 in 3 this year, Chuk Aneke and Kieron Agard. All 3 are out of contract.
