So now the sun has nearly set on what has been one of the worst seasons i can care to remember, the focus turns to what our expectations are for next season.
With what is sure to be one of the most interesting pre seasons to date, what do people think of what could happen next season?
From my perspective its going to be how much time Bowyer gets to turn this around. I don't think his job will be on the line irrespective of promotion or not but i expect the majority of fans expect a decent start to the season after 18 months of dire football. I do think his honeymoon period is over though, time to start producing the goods in terms of results.

It all depends on Rupp. He's accepted responsibility, has vowed to back us and many fans suspect he feels some guilt with a point to prove. I guess we'll find out soon if he really means business.

what is 100% not acceptable is another relegation battle. Most of the players towards the bottom end of league 2 are barely legitimate professional footballers.

Are you sure you wanted to ask that, RT ? Very daring.

Personally, I think he still has a month to go, in his 'honeymoon period' - After that ? Oh yes ............ People will start their early judgements. It's not just down to Bowyer - He needs to see and believe that Rhupp and Rhodes are truly on his side, and will deliver on any promises. It's those promises (delivered or not) which will define next season.
Without knowing our target or future squad, it's hard to judge for now. If Bowyer receives just half of what he asks for, then I feel confident we won't suffer successive relegation's. Beyond that, it's hard to call.

Pre season will be structured, I'm more than sure - BUT ..... I'd like to see more than just one competitive game, than a 'curtain raiser'. Say three, well within the transfer window, just to give Bowyer an opportunity to fine tune the quality (not quantity) of his squad before Kick Off.

    Depends on a couple of things;
Changing the culture of the last 18 months or so, something is rotten even six months after Edin left.
Shifting the shit players and replacing them with quality.
Starting the season well. Start badly and worries of a bad season will set in

To win some games with all 11 or so players busting a gut and doing their best everytime. That's all . Some good teams in div 2 and a good one coming up, Orient and maybe Salford....

Nearly all of our players towards the bottom end of L1 would struggle to pass as legitimate professional footballers

A return to claret and amber stripes

A much better recruitment and pre-season than last summer's farce

Ship out most of the dross from the current squad

    A serious Play-off push as a minimum

Not to panic if early season results dont go our way. Sheffield Utd and Norwich both got off to very slow starts this season in the Championship, but neither board panicked

My expectations are automatic promotion and that should be everyone's target inside the club - the board, staff, management and players.

However, that'll only be a possibility if Rupp sticks to his promises, which is anyone's guess really.

Teams will raise their game against us like they did last time which means we need to take every game seriously, we need the professionalism and determination that Parkinson instilled in the team.

I think challenging for the playoffs is realistic. In theory automatic promotion should be possible, but in practice it was a lot harder to achieve the last time we were in league two.

I'm hoping that with Rhodes still here he has learned lessons from the last time. They didn't take the league seriously enough the last time we were relegated, apparently they genuinely thought Barry Conlon, Nathan Joynes and Alex Rhodes were a good enough standard of player to get us out of that league.

I expect top 3 with the very worse a play off place. If we get back to the days of thinking Cheltenham at home looks like a difficult game or we should be happy with a point away at Cambridge my head will explode

I want to see a good hard working quality squad, not bothered if it is smaller. I want a proper pre season with plenty of competitive work outs. We should always strive for automatic promotion, but I am prepared if we don’t make it. However, all of the above depends on whether Stefan can find more money to invest. I don’t mean bringing in ‘big names’ but good experienced professionals, and up and coming young players. To be able to compete with other clubs for the very best we can afford.

I want the club to return to a normal working club, and get rid of the toxic atmosphere around the place.

I want plans for restructuring of the club, not just the playing side.

This both adds to and supports my view that we all want to see a better BCAFC. But until at least July, we'll not know for sure what will be.

One thing ........ I'm pretty pissed off with turning up at VP, expecting and getting beat. That for a start, can change ;)
Where's the crowd rocking fortress that was once Valley Parade ? Let's have that back, please. :)

    3 teams go up automatically.

Some of you really need to start getting more ambition and demanding more from Bradford City.

Im naturally a bit pessimistic anyway but unfortunately im not holding out much hope for an immediate return. The contracted players we have didn't show a massive amount of spirit and desire to be here whilst in league one, i imagine it'll only be worse a division lower.

Im also extremely sceptical at the notion of Mr Rupp funding an overhaul of the squad. I honestly think we've had as much money from him as were ever likely to get, and he'll be off as soon as he can get something resembling a return, whilst spending very little between now and then.

I do however expect us to have a more structured pre-season then last years debacle. And we'll be more organised from the start too hopefully. I just dont expect us to turn it around immediately or recruit the players of sufficent quality to succeed.

More then happy to be proven wrong and I really hope I am, I just dont think we will.

    13th place finish.
