We should be giving Bowyer a 2 year deal. He's a steady manager in the lower leagues and we simply can't be having to go out and find a new manager to start everything again.

A couple of his decisions could be questioned but I don't think he's done much wrong, and he has such a shambolic squad that it's hard to pin much of what we're seeing on the pitch on him after just 4 games. I dont think this group of players are capable of properly carrying out any managers instructions.

He needs to be allowed to reconstruct the side and get some stability back into things.

I can't remember watching such a poor group of players. And we have had some sh** in the past.

Bowyer has nothing to do with this... I would like him to be given the opportunity next season. That's if he wants it after the last month haha

Theres no point wanting a manager who instigates a connection with fans and then also criticise a manager because he's previously instigated a connection with fans.

I think to blame bowyer is a bit harsh... he has nothing to work with. No pace out wide, defence is terrible, and a shout out to Doyle today! Fantastic strikers instinct :kissing:

I would rather watch a youth team out there than this group of players. Honestly, they are that bad.

I agree. We were gone when took over. The Walsall result killed us off. It takes a few weeks for a manager to get his ideas over and it’s too late for this side.

I’d hoped he would give us a fighting chance and at least make us hard to beat and put up a fight. Just goes to show how poor the squad is

I don't think anybody would be 'happy' with top 10 in league 2 given where we were just 2 years ago but the reality is that this club is in a mess the likes of which I've never known.
We are club with serious momentum and it's all downward. We need to firstly stabilise and make sure that we have reached our low point...at present I'm not convinced that's the case and I can see things getting worse!
As I've said nobody but nobody would be able to get a tune out of collectively the worst squad of players I have seen in my 45 years.
I honestly don't know if Bowyer is the right man for the job but I for one will not judge him based on the shower he inherited. If he is here next season, I take some encouragement from the Blackpool team of yesterday, most of which he recruited. Plenty of pace with a physical presence that will be exactly what we need next season.

A complete lack of options outside the first 11 is wholly to blame. We can’t drop them, so no matter how badly they play, we can’t replace them. Most would admit to needing to be dropped but for who?

Top to bottom restructure. 3 years minimum to get back to where we were, that’s if we’re still in existence.

Only just been able to hear Bowyer comments, man he was hurting. Very rarely heard a manager say of his players 'they can get lost' if these whimps are going to feel sorry for themselves, he has obviously read the riot act to these 'so called' professionals. I know Black Adder among others dont want Bowyer at the club but I see it very differently, we are up shit creek and we have the worst team in terms of character in my memory (not the worst players), NO manager is going to get a consistent tune out of this shower of feeble individuals.
But, as has also been pointed out, we urgently need someone at the top of the club to tell us the fans what the f... is going on and what is going to happen.

Winner! In all honesty this season was done last week. No manager would be able to get a tune out of this gutless, useless shower of total shite. Today was in my view an all time low point in 45 years of watching City.
To move forward we need someone to rebuild. We need the right characters with guts and heart. Caddis apart I saw none of that today in what was a must win game.
Clear the decks in the summer and start again.

The board has to carry the can for that.

Until this club gets some identity and real football men involved at the top then we're going nowhere.

Its clearly L2 for us now regardless of how optimistic a person you are, such a shame.

This simply shows why organisations that are well structured, who follow a plan, that take a conventional approach to business do the best. Similarly why organisations that are built on dreams and optimistic expectations that are out of touch with the status quo tend not to be the best.

Our players performances are simply a result of a poorly managed club. They deserve to be where they are in the table and us fans dont deserve to have to watch it. Edins ego, vision and somewhat living life in dreamland gutted the organisation and we now pick the pieces up in L2.

Cadis, Ball, Butterfield and Obrien are the only commendable players

Akpan though will be decent in L2 - silver lining?

I think half the problem is, that if we play attacking football, it exposes the defence far too much...
We can out in the second half looking up for it, playing a bit more attacking.... And pretty soon we are 2 down, then 3, then 4.

They are not his players. A squad has been assembled way before Bowyer arrived that has no pace, hardly any physical presence, is unbelievably easy to play against and has no heart whatsoever! Frankly once Hopkin left it was almost irrelevant who came in as far as this season goes because this squad is 100% relegation fodder and absolutely no coach or manager was going to change that.
We need to think about next season now as somebody has one hell of a job to do. As to whether that man is Gary Bowyer, that remains to be seen. I wouldn't have an issue with that as he in no way at all is responsible for the shitshow we witnessed today. Whilst we all have opinions and will no doubt question some of his decisions, he is simply trying to do the best with the crap he has been left with and like Hopkin before him, unfortunately has no magic wand.
Whoever our next permanent appointment is (be it Bowyer or someone else) needs to be given the time and backing to build us a team again with the short term objective of stopping this rapid nosedive that at current pace sees us heading out of the league! We can't continue with a revolving managerial door......

It doesn't matter which permutation you use with this squad, it would still go down. This squad would struggle in league 2 never mind league 1. Don't forget the last time we were in league 2, we weren't brilliant but we played to our strengths. And we had a certain individual called Wells whose pace frightened the life out of defenders.

You really do talk nonsense at times!

Bowyer went to Blackpool and created some kind of bond with their supporters despite not previously having had any connection with the club. And he had the good grace and maturity to recognise that yesterday.

Whatever the nature of that connection, it was formed from his own managerial endeavours at Blackpool and not as a result of him playing for the club. If he'd stay at VP and help us to re-establish ourselves as a professional club, I'd be pleased to see him here next season

I thought bowyers actions were dignified, and showed a touch of class. It doesn't mean that he wants Blackpool to win... Just that he appreciated the fans that supported him during his time at Blackpool.

Right now, I'd snap anyone's hand off for getting back to financial sustainability and a 10th place league 2 finish next season.

We're in critical condition and need to stop the bleeding.

As it stands we're more likely to be nearer the bottom than the top of league 2 next season.
