The whole scheme was always designed to coerce young people into getting jabbed.

And if the Club had announced today that you need a pass for Saturday what would you be saying then? This is a heads up.

I have had both jabs and would encourage everybody offered it to do the same, and I hope most people I sit close to have been vaccinated also. Being vaccinated though does not mean you cannot get the virus and spread it , so on that basis then why should a vaccinated person have any more preference to entry than somebody unvaccinated.
I also think it would be unworkable at the turnstiles, they have all on managing to simply scan the season tickets, someone told me they once forgot there ticket but managed to gain entry with their tesco clubcard!

They barely check them going into gigs - a cursory glance at best. I could be showing them a screenshot of someone else's for all they care. The stewards at VP are going to be even less bothered.

Still makes me laugh that we're implementing measures that are already proving ineffective in other countries. No logic at all.

Must admit, very rarely watch football on TV, and sitting in the cold last night watching that turgid stuff served by our team, had me thinking that I was only there out of lifetime habit.

Let's hope that somehow a Knight in shining armour buys our club off of our disinterested owner and puts the fun back into watching our beloved team.

nah I very much doubt it will get suspended soon, Omicron whilst spreads and does evade vaccines well its quite mild compared to OG Covid. Personally i think there might be some sort of restriction again but absolutely nothing like march 2020. maybe games behind closed doors again but Id be surprised if its suspended.

Carlisle are adopting a different approach to FGR.

They've reduced the official capacity of Brunton Park (to <10,000) and are limiting the numbers in the standing areas to <4,000. A Covid pass won't therefore be required to enter the ground but a mask will still be mandatory in the enclosed areas.

There has to be a way of recording it and testing everyone who dies to see if that had it at death is not a realistic option so they have gone with the best possible. There will be plenty who die OF it who haven't had a recorded test and plenty who die with it that were going to die anyway, cancer, heart attack, stroke.

The two might not balance each other out but in the absence of a better way the 28 day rule seems to be a fairly common sense approach, absolutely no doubt this has been decided on by the scientists rather than the politicians so no element of fudge/ conspiracy/ cover up etc.

Covid is a killer, we all know that and rather than argue over the whys and wherefores of the stats we should just get on with eradicating it. We developed world beating vaccines in weeks & months, I'm sure the boffins are throwing similar money at an actual cure or at least a drug that makes it non fatal.

We consigned Smallpox to a test tube, I'm sure given time the men with brains the size of the London Planetarium can do the same with this twatting disease.

It has been announced that the current COVID restrictions, regarding mandatory masks and COVID passports, will end from Thursday 27 January 2022.

With only two away matches to come before restrictions are lifted and, as both those grounds will fall below the passport threshold, this thread has now run its course and has been locked.

N.B. Those attending the matches at Rochdale and Walsall should note that the existing mask rules will be in place, as regards internal parts of those grounds (e.g. concourses). Whether or not there will be any attempts to enforce such rules is another matter.

Let's hope that there will be no need to open this thread again.

Why would anybody expect someone to miss Sutton at home just to protect others from a highly infectious, potentially fatal, virus?

Nothing more loyal than still going to City battling a virus, no positive test will stop me. Other people need to get their priorities right. #CTID

why should we take a 'risk' in taking a vaccine but get no rewards for doing so?

What utter gibberish. Your reward is protection against the virus. If you don't believe it protects you, why the feck did you take it?

I completely agree but entering a negative LFT into the system provides even less inconvenience for them, especially if they're of the mindset that the situation isn't serious enough to get a vaccination for whatever reason.

But overall I would be annoyed if places like Valley Parade start requiring a "passport", ignoring for the fact that it's easy to get around if people so wish, as somebody who is double jabbed it's none of my business if the person next to me is vaccinated or not. If they are unvaccinated it's no guarantee that they are carrying the virus and if they are vaccinated it's no guarantee that they're not. Either way it makes no difference to me as long as the protection provided by my inoculation actually works.
