I agree if they even try to bring in the claret and amber scheme I’ll want a refund for the remainder of the season. I won’t be fobbed off with an iFollow subscription. That’s not what I paid for.
Also, you can’t seriously expect turnstile operators to check Covid passes. Have you seen the queues at airports from a few hundred passengers off a plane and that’s with staff who know what they’re doing.
And what about clubs who have automated turnstiles. Who will check those Covid passes?

The club know who we are that’s true but how do you expect them to record our Covid status permanently? Of course we’ll have to show it for every game unless they issue a separate ticket or replacement season ticket once vaccination status has been proven. This takes too much time and Boxing Day is only 2 weeks away

Its just not practical to check so many fans. The only way the could really do it is open up the Sunwin stand and have people checking passes on both ends of the car park, but there would still be long queues either end, they’d need loads of extra staff, and they’d have to close the roads as queues built up.

i can’t see the turnstile staff checking them - its busy enough on them as it is as the ST barcodes never scan.

the only other solution i can see is making fans pick up tickets in advance of match day. If you prove vaccine status you are given a pre-match ticket you can just turn up with and get straight in. Unvaccinated wouldnt be able to do this though as could get virus in between getting ticket and matchday arriving.

all a mess, really, and its not the clubs fault. Fans demanding refunds helps nobody.

I reckon the club will be talking to Leeds and seeing what they learnt from their trial runs at start of season, and any other PL clubs we have contacts with.

ideally the sharing of learning would have been coordinated after the tests and shared throughout the EFL but that sounds far too organised

Each covid pass has an end date on it, valid for a month from the date it is produced. If you goy yours on 1st december then by the new years day match it will be expired.

Maybe we need an xF (expected fans) statistic.
That way the club will have all the data they need to plan for match days

You honestly believe that a) we have any meaningful contacts with PL or Championship Clubs other than Sparks sucking up to his Irish Dad or b) we have the foresight to do that ?

If it can't be done on twitter then Sparks is out of his depth.

Interesting how they go with the kids, I've not seen that rule clarified by the government.

Now that kids from 12, have been offered the jab is there a requirement now that they will require a passport too, given under 18 have been exempt in the past.

My two haven't/won't be getting it for the foreseeable, looks like they may be unable to attend for the rest of the season now

all it would take is a marker on the software when they scan our ticket

    Really isn't that hard

Yeah but there's no reason to continually prove something that isn't going to change

Go to the ticket office show your valid proof of vaccination once and done

Friend is a ST holder at Leeds and hasn't shown his passport once. The stewards aren't going to check them, it's more trouble than it's worth for them.

I haven't heard all of the coverage of the PM's dead cat strategy for reimposing Covid restrictions. How will VP will be affected by the mandatory requirement for wearing masks in enclosed areas affect us all? Will it be a case of wearing a mask in the enclosed areas - entering VP, foyers, kiosk area, toilet areas etc - and then removing them once in the seating areas?

They barely check them going into gigs - a cursory glance at best. I could be showing them a screenshot of someone else's for all they care. The stewards at VP are going to be even less bothered.

Still makes me laugh that we're implementing measures that are already proving ineffective in other countries. No logic at all.

Quite how the stewards will deal with it remains to be seen. I watched a bit of a punch up on the kop concourse last night and asked a senior steward nearby if he was actually going to do anything and he said, 'sod that, I aint daft.'

No. You need to get a new covid passport each month otherwise it doesn't work. How would showing one that expired on 31st December be acceptable on 1st february ? In the meantime you could have caught covid and passed positive on a PCR. That's like saying you should be able to get through passport control with an expired passport.
