You don't even need to fake them as LFT's are only around 40% accurate. Many countries don't even recognise them as a valid test because they are so inaccurate. I know of 6 occasions this year in which a different member of staff at a single school has had a positive LFT result only for the PCR to come back negative the next day, as a result that year group has missed 2 days education thanks to the inaccuracy of the LFT.

The passports are a joke. If you're worried about COVID get vaccinated, that's the best way to protect yourself. Discriminating against those who chose not to get the vaccine is unfair and ridiculous.

 

I don’t want to drive within the speed limits in my car. It is capable of doing over 100mph, has brakes which weren’t even thought of when speed limits were set up. I don’t really want to pay for car insurance as I would be prepared to take the risk. Why should I pay road tax as I already pay VAT on the fuel I put in my vehicle at the pumps….and on and on.

Yet I do. I recognise that speed limits are by and large sensible. That like it or not to drive I have to have Insurance, My Vehicle Taxed, MOT, and that Tax is taken. It reduces risk, and helps to provide an infrastructure for transport.

Should we now abandon all immunisation programmes, on the basis that children normally receive them and cannot give consent when they do? Should we wait until they are adults.

Strikes me that it is not always about what I want, but what is in the greater ‘Public Good’.

 

If I were sick to death about reading about COVID I probably wouldn't click on a thread with the word COVID in the title.

 

For those who haven't seen one previously, here's my Covid Pass from the NHS App on my phone. I've had both jabs, had 2 negative LFTs and a negative PCR test. There is no further medical info embedded in the QR symbol ...



It's even more simplified on some versions of the app replacing the QR symbol with a big green tick showing that the person has had either two jabs or a negative test result. Something like this is what is being proposed to get us into large spectator events such as footie.

Is this really an example of Big Brother at work trying to limit our freedoms further? I don't think so.

 

I emailed Ryan Sparks about the club's current position on Covid 19 restrictions at VP. The current Spectators Code of Practice, which applied at recent pre-season games at VP, says that masks must be worn inside VP even when seated. Ryan said that is now being updated.

The club expects the new Code to be published next week at the earliest, in readiness for the Oldham game. The key aspect is that the club will expect masks to be worn in the internal areas of VP - concourses, toilet areas etc - and while queuing. Masks won't be expected to be worn when seated.

Ryan made it quite clear that since the start of the pandemic, the Club has been guided by the EFL, the Sports Ground Safety Authority and the Government and will continue to do so. I suspect that means that that group will have the final say moving forward.

You can do all of that by taking the LFT and it proving negative. Then, there's no issue. If however it proves positive then yes, you should be isolating and not be responsible for spreading the virus to others whether friends, family or complete strangers. Faking the test result merely increases the risk that while you're out enjoying tourself, others are being infected through no fault of their own. Faking the result for your own short term pleasures is simply gambling with the well being of others.

 

Why would anybody want to fake the rresults of a LFT and risk spreading the virus to others? It's simply irresponsible.

The only thing undermining the vaccine rollout at the moment are the threats being made by Government. The constant fear mongering which is turning people like you against their fellow man. It's disgusting.
