Was that the time when we had a city flyer train and were marched by the police from the railway station to the ground.

Always liked him and found him very honest. His comments after the game sounded like he was feeling the pressure.

I just can’t see us having the legs on a big pitch ,with Smallwood and Clayton for the first half yes ,but as game goes on we have no outlet with pace to get us up the pitch to knock balls behind there defence ,they know that and can push up ,putting more pressure on us and then it’s just a matter of time ,might even be extra time but eventually the lack of legs will tell. Just wish we had been braver at valley parade in first half to get the second then hang on for a 2-0 .here’s hoping I’m wrong

I think someone suggested this earlier.....I still can't believe I'm going to say it :confounded:. But with the bigger pitch and all that.......

Eisa on the left. With a bit more space he might be more effective and if he gets in the right place he is actually a goal threat. Oh FFS

Being a Carlisle fan I'm not totally sticking up for Simmo here, however which ever way you look at it the Ref was very, very poor, your central defenders were all over Garner, and before anyone starts twining about Garner play accting, we Carlisle fans all know what Garner is like, if he can get an advantage he'll take it and he'll give out as much as he receives, however 2 or 3 times the game resembled an all in wrestling match. On the other side of the fence Huntington at one stage practically threw Cook to the floor at least twice. The amount of poor decisions (both ways) was laughable. Whelan was booked (rightfully so) for hauling back one of your lads on the far side, but literally a few minutes earlier the same thing happened to Senior (down our side) and the ref simply waved play on.
'Homer' is probably a strong word, however IMO he was very, very poor all round and for both teams.
Lets hope for a much better and stronger Ref at BP.

Sadly, based on our experience away at Mansfield the ref for Saturday isn't exactly top notch.

We are used to refs giving us nothing here I thought this ref was fairer than most Apart from the usual penalisation of Cook. However us football fans are biased aren’t we?

The ref at Mansfield sent off Platt and then added 10 minutes at the end when we were clinging on.
You've got it in the bag.

Walker is always at it to be fair. He also slowed down the game every chance he got once we went in front.

Garner is a little cheating two hat. If you can’t see that , why the hell is he on the field!

I thought the ref was pretty decent, tbh. Yes, he made a few errors (like the first half free kick given against Stubbs, who never touched your forward, who should have been booked for diving). Also the several times when Cook was grabbed around the face or neck by your CBs. Like all fans, including you, I noticed the unpunished fouls against my team far more than those commited by us. But having watched the game again on Sky, those errors balanced out pretty evenly for both sides.

It was clear to me that he recognised this was going to be a hard fought physical game, with lots of challenges. He obviously wanted to let it flow rather than penalise every minor infringement, which would have created a disjointed game of constant stops & starts. I don't think he was poor or weak. I think he deliberately let quite a lot go for both sides. I'd much rather have a ref like that than an over-officious two hat throwing cards about like confetti, constantly stopping the play or skewing the result with a soft penalty for a nothing challenge.
