Brexit - 2nd Referendum - The (Bradford City FC) Peoples Vote

As I have already said the demographics of the referendum vote are a side show. It is wheeled out as a negative. I have watched groups of young ppl who voted to remain as a justification for having a second referendum; ie lots of the old demographic will have died off, and if we give the vote to 16 year olds this will swing the vote into the remain camp. Justification for being discriminatory? ‘We the young have to live with the outcomes’

Well now we all have to live with the outcomes of previous generations, welcome to real world. Part of being an adult is dealing with reality rather than whinging about older ppl being responsible for Brexit. It was them same older ppl who voted to keep us in the EU in the first place, but not this incarnation that we have now.

What will be will be, but what I do know being a 69 year old white woman who funnily enough still have all my faculties is this; the debate about whether we are in or out needs to end. We have become a fragmented society with no tolerance for another’s view point. We need to come together as a nation and start to repair ourselves. Build on our sense of identity, and common purpose. The EU cannot help even if they wanted to, this has to be done by each individual within our nation.

Its not that I was offended, like I give a feck its that he was plain wrong. He literally just repeated what i wrote back to me and used it in his own argument. Thats just crazy.

 

You didnt read what I wrote as you are now just repeating what I already wrote. Ignoring the point about how they actually have no power and your assertions about them are blown out of proportion.

Who cares about Theresa May being insulted? I certainly do not, shes a big girl she knows what shes getting into being PM. If you want to ask questions like that then what about the Tory MP who directly asked a foreign power to subvert our parliamentary democracy, in other words treason!! what about those?

Oh, well he said the EU was openly anti democratic in other words he said they pursue a dictatorship. Given the fact that the EU is actually very democratic I said its a childish argument. To which he then began patronising me. Maybe the word insulting was the wrong choice. He patronised me so I did the same. Not that bad really is it?

 

I never claimed or said it was anti democratic or that it was a dictatorship, Those are words in your mind not that I have posted, You do realise democracy comes in many forms and the EU has a very loose version that many say including myself should be vastly improved to give more representation, However we have been trying to reform the EU for over 20 years with no or little success so in my humble opinion we should leave and have our destiny in our own hands instead of a failing EU demanding more and more from us

 

You couldn't have put it much more straight forward as that, just why are we (some, anyway) actually voting to be dictated to and kicked around by a foreign power that will never show any mercy especially after recent events..?
