Good news in my opinion, hard to judge him on this season given the shite he has inherited. Hopefully can get rid of the rubbish this summer and get some better players

Now let's all stop this pissing about, which we've done successfully for the last 20 months, and start to rebuild the Club, US FANS recognise as ours. Getting it right ............ in the offices, on the pitch and in the stands is pivotal to our immediate future. Onwards and upwards !!

The most important thing at this stage is just having some frigging clarity, knowing what direction we're actually going in, and sticking with it BEYOND a transfer window.

It won't be easy, and I don't expect us to go up next season, but as long as we see progress.

I don't think we'll see any journeyman cloggers to be honest. If this was a manager like hopkin then yes we would given his style of play but Bowyer wants to play attacking, attractive football which you need good technical players for.

And it doesn't need to be physical everywhere either. A new, strong centre half partnership and left back, plus mellor (who I think will be 1st choice next year) is already a huge upgrade in terms of physicality. Add to that a defensive midfield enforcer and a striker who has a bit of strength (not just a lump of shite) and that'll do it in terms of the strong physical players.

 

I don’t think Hopkin could take the attitude of some of the players anymore, such as AO’C only worrying about his goal bonus after we lost the must win Walsall game. Don’t forget Hopkin’s CV was taking over a side, getting relegated, then getting them promoted twice on a small budget. If it was financial/his hands being tied again this summer then fair enough, I think the essential rebuild is something he would’ve been looking forward to.

 

Happier with the appointment than I was with Hopkin.

Its proved with this missfit team doesn't matter who's in charge you can't polish a turd.

 

It's pleasing to read of GB's immediate plans once the season finishes for the rebuilding of the squad.
His preference of big physical and athletic type players is also something that sits well with me, I will look forward to see his rebuild come into fruition.
However, I feel this strategy will somewhat be curtailed (at least for sometime) by the amount of contracted players that need shifting before his plans can be implemented. Even on the drip of one out one in, this will hamper his blueprint.
Am I reading too much into the difficulty of the action?

Agree on every point there. I think Doyle would he one of the most potent strikers in L2 with a big unit up front with him, a fit Scannell would surely be a decent supply line, and if were attempting to fill the team with bigger physical players, then Akpan would surely fit the mould in L2. They all bring experience which would be invaluable as do Mellor and O'Donnell. Just hope they have the right attitude and can be financially sustained.

 

I agree with above if a bit grudgingly with O'Donnell because I don't think he is very good I would also keep Luca Collville

Is Bowyer still getting a free ride because this season is a lost cause or are we a bit concerned with how utterly inept we are?
I largely think he's still the right man and think itll be better next season but its a bit concerning that we're losing literally every single week. we can't even get a draw anymore.
