I have a strong suspicion your hatred towards Parky isn't shared by too many City fans irrespective of what we think about his style of football. If the owner wants Parky to return to VP, that will be a matter for him and not you and most supporters would welcome his return.

And Coventry City's owners, SISU, have just turned down a £7 million offer to buy them. Not only do Coventry not own their own ground, at the present moment they don't even have a ground to play on next season.

The Premier League clubs are probably, to an extent, living with their means. At least in the sense that the Premier League continues to become wealthier with each negotiated television/media deal. I was reading somewhere the other day that the lowest placed Premier League team receives more television/media money than the champions of the French league do. Some of these teams could probably play in an empty stadium week after week and still have money to spare.

It seems like Bolton have been in grave danger for years. I can still remember their old owner Phil Gartside trying to engineer a Premier League division 2 with no relegation to the football league. They seemed to have plenty of money to spare the last time they were in league one, once again spending money they didn't have and in a sense cheating another team out of promotion.

I'm starting to think "parachute payments" do more harm than good. It gives teams relegated from the Premier League an unfair advantage the following season and seemingly encourages them to spend even more in order to reach the promised land. They'll have "parachute parachute" payments for teams relegated to league one next and then after a while it will be parachutes all the way down.

Looks like the league are forcing them to play their juniors for the last two games. If a team did that they would be fined

    I guess
    • Will the kids play?
    • Will the PFA intervene?
    • I see the EFL have not put a deadline for completing the fixtures. Bizarre as I guess Brentford players will want to spend time, ‘on the beach’, rather than hanging around to play relegated Bolton.

If they do go out of business and their results are cancelled, then Norwich, Sheffield United and Leeds will all lose six points but West Brom and Derby will not lose six. West Brom could end up being automatically promoted.

The EFL will be desperate to avoid that scenario I would have thought.

As long as they stay within the rules they can not stop them. Unfortunately there are no rules for spending outside of the footballing side, or making a certain amount of loss. Which one depends on which league they are in.

Yes just watched on Sky. The EFL have not been consulted and therefore are not prepared to comment. I think it is right the match does not go ahead, and the EFL will need to take a serious look at this to see whether it is fair for legally arranged matches to be called off due to the mess at Bolton. The rest of League are continually being dragged into this. Feel sorry for them but this cannot carry on.

Why should a set of fans be punished they love their club just as we do. I believe there is a takeover ready at Bolton held up by a court injunction brought about by Bassini with a court hearing on September 2nd. This could have been us a few years ago and could be again in the furure

You believe wrongly. The injunction was lifted at the start of last week. The preferred buyers do not want to complete until they have also tied up a deal for the hotel which different administrators are dealing with.

Correct, and it's further complicated by the fact that there are a number of parties interested in taking over the hotel, and the administrator needs examine their bids, undertake due diligence on funding etc. They are not going to just hand the deal to Football Ventures.

Same with Bolton in 16/17 the strengthened in the January when they couldn’t afford the players they had, instead of steadying the ship both went shit or bust and it ended up being the latter. I have sympathy for the fans as it’s not them who spend the money but the clubs are where they are because of living beyond their means, not the first and won’t be the last.

I’d like to see them reimburse non refundable train tickets for the Doncaster fans and time they’ve had to take off work to attend, but they can’t as they can’t even afford to pay the staff they have.

Absolutely, which is why my sympathy is limited. Almost wish there could be some kind of points bonus for not running your club like a cowboy.

Football business is cruel with crap owners being allowed to get away with far too much. There should be massive consequences when clubs are ruined and stripped by greed!
Gutted for Bolton and Bury clubs, and fans.
Also saddened to see Parkinson reluctantly leave.
