Just think the FA have to kick both Bolton and Bury out now or send them to div 2 with minus points that they're on.

 

Unfortunately as you say there is very little the fans can do, I'm surprised it's taken this long for a few teams to be teetering on the edge of oblivion.
Maybe when new owners take over the FL should ask for a bond as the landlord does, the bigger the club the bigger the bond ?.

 

Same with Bolton in 16/17 the strengthened in the January when they couldn’t afford the players they had, instead of steadying the ship both went shit or bust and it ended up being the latter. I have sympathy for the fans as it’s not them who spend the money but the clubs are where they are because of living beyond their means, not the first and won’t be the last.

I’d like to see them reimburse non refundable train tickets for the Doncaster fans and time they’ve had to take off work to attend, but they can’t as they can’t even afford to pay the staff they have.

 

I wonder how many Bolton & Bury fans were unhappy their clubs were cheating

 

hmm, what punishment did Rangers get? Drop them both to Northern Premier League, loads of local derbies. That might help cash flow.

 

I get where your coming from mate but it wll never take such as Barca, PSG, Man City and the others who have been caught exceding the
UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations out of busines.
I doubt most fans (yes myself included) understand the in's and out's of whats fair and what isn't, as you can see on here your good self and Dennis are usually the guys who explain the financilal side of modern day football.

 

Sympathy to an extent for the fans, however as you say I highly doubt there were any fans of either team worrying about whether or not they could afford who they were buying at the time. As fans we need to have a long hard think about the pressure sometimes placed on owners to spend money constantly. Short termism in football is worse than its ever been from top to bottom and this is the ultimate result.

 

Don't get me wrong I sympathise with fans of both clubs and many others, but both Bolton & Bury have had recent promotions fueled by overspending and at the expense of clubs that live within their means.

 

Absolutely, which is why my sympathy is limited. Almost wish there could be some kind of points bonus for not running your club like a cowboy.
