we might have stepped up against a better side. I’m never a big fan of comparing performances and saying a better side would have beaten us. Sometimes you just do enough

Not much to say about the game today. I thought we were pretty ordinary and managed to grind out the win without having to get out of 2nd gear. Morecambe posed a few problems for us but I always fancied us to win as the game progressed.

You can’t play great every week and sometimes, especially away form home, you have to be able to take your chances and grind out a result which is what we did today.

Why shouldn’t the fans dream and have a chant they can sing? After last seasons debacle I’m all for it. To play bang average and still pick up all 3 points, certainly gives a lot of fans hope that this could be our season

Got one just now! Thanks for the concern though Skye. Emailed Mick Lamb on Wednesday and he replied very quickly telling me there were plenty left, don't worry. As commented by others, they went on general sale during night (for me) but I got sorted out when I got up this morning.

As Bigrod mentioned, a large demand from West Yorkshire to Morecambe (and back) on Saturday will hopefully lead to more capacity being provided, but don't hold your breath.
I pity Joe Public, who just fancies a quiet day out by train with the family to Morecambe on Saturday
    Me, car definitely.

I downloaded the form to get cheap travel, but also after Saturday and thinking back to a few localish away games ive done with my son, I've also decided to go in the car.
The fact there's only one train to get you there and one back rather than regular services also contributes.
My lads only 7 and loves going to games, home and away.
We were literally in the middle of 50 lads scuffling outside McDonalds after the game on Saturday, bottles flying everywhere.
Having to tell my boy to run to get away from it isn't pleasant.
Don't get me wrong I've seen loads over the years and at his tender years he's seen a fair bit since he started going but it's getting a bit too much now

Strangely, the "sauce for his pie" and "more seagulls than fans" songs got far more social media (and full media) attention, without crossing the line, if social media attention is what someone wants.

You’re right about this game being perfectly timed for us to pick up 3pts. Our away form hasn’t been good enough and if we manage to turn that around today, we will climb the table.

As you say, with 5th v 3rd not playing today and 1st v 2nd playing each other, that’s at least 3 (if not all 4) teams we can gain on this afternoon. Hoping for a draw in the top of the table clash, so both sides ‘drop’ 2pts each. Then that just leaves Crewe, who I expect to win at Carlisle.

Should we win, we could be sitting as high as 2nd tonight, and at worst, we’d be 3rd. This is a great opportunity.

    E I E I E I O... up the football league we go...

Pleased with the win. Performance a bit hit and miss but it’s these kind of games that you have to grind out a win. Morecambe played quite well in my opinion and whatever anyone thinks of him, Ellison is still a pain in the arse to play against. Very similar to Windass.

Doesn’t matter how we get the points, as long as we get them.

    Totally agree.

After our recent history I no longer care how we play as long as we get results.

And the thing is the more we win the more confidence the players will get and that has to be a good thing.

Okay, we might not be the finished article, but we are heading in the right direction and we are picking up points along the way.

Some of the youngsters on here won't remember that in the season we got promoted to the Premier League we had a terrible start and it took time for the team to truly gel, but boy when it did gel, we were freakin' awesome for the rest of the season.

A new era of progress dawns :)
